Getting started is fun!
Did you do the class that FF has? Is is very helpful and you will learn a lot from it.
How long does your regular thermometer take to give you a temp reading? If it is super fast like 9 seconds it won't be very accurate, but if it takes longer, so the temp can equalize it may be good enough to start with. I used a BD brand regular therm for years and never had a problem with charting with it. I like that brand because it beeps while you take your temp so you know you have it in the right spot. I now have there BBT since it is pink my kids won't play with it....lol. They know it is mommy's "special' thermometer.
If you have any questions just ask, there are lots of charting experts here to help you.
The first most important thing though is to take your temp at the same time everyday, even days off. I set my alarm on the weekends (most of the time) and temp at my normal workday time, then go back to sleep. it helps that my thermometer has a memory recall, so I don't have to remember it...lol.[/b]

I'm taking the FF classes now...they email them to me everyday. My regular thermometer seemed like it took forever this morning. It must have been at least 30 seconds and it was beeping the whole time and the alarm was going off and my husband forgot that I was going to be starting the temps this morning so he was all out of sorts for a bit there.
The basal thermometer I bought says:
* Mabis Digital Basal Thermometer (15-639-000)
* Whether using as a tool for natural family planning or to better understand the fertility cycle, the Digital Basal Thermometer provides readings within 1/100th of a degree of accuracy.
* Large, easy to read digital display
* Memory recall of last reading
* Beeper to indicate peak temperature readings
So that's not too bad, right? It was only $5.99 online! I hope it's a good one.
Thank you for the help! Everyone is so nice here.
