So this is my first month using OPKs. I got a positive yesterday. I decided to test again today and now it's negative. Is it normal to only get a positive for one day? Does that mean that I could O today or did I O last night?

Haha this is confusing... I thought the OPKs would help me but it's making it harder!!

Also one more question.. I went a party last week and had a couple drinks. the next morning my temperature was pretty high, and then dropped again the next day. IS this due to the alcohol? SHould I disregard this temp? I dont want it throw off my whole chart. I was playing around with my temps and if I removed it, then it would change my O date.

Any input is appreciated!! thanks!!

It is normal to only get a positive OPK for one day. If you had tested later that night chances are it would have been negative even then! It won't stay positive until you ovulate. It will only be positive when your LH is surging. So you ovulated within 12-36 hours after that positive.

Yes, that high temp was due to the alcohol consumption. If it changes your O date, you might want to discard it just for the sake of accuracy ... but then, we don't know what your temp would have been if you didn't drink that night.

Depending on what kind of cervical fluid you were seeing, you might want to discard that temp. Does the mucus info match with the temp info, or are your crosshairs dotted? If they are, that means the info doesn't match and it's possibly because of that high temp. Discard it and see if the crosshairs become solid. If so I'd leave it out because it's likely just from the drinking.

Well now I see your chart ... you're probably Oing today or tomorrow like wannabesupermom said. It would be easier to tell if you had CM data, too.

Thanks for the replies.. I'm guessing I O'd on the night I got the OPK because I had cramping right after and then my cervical mucus dried up. It hadbeen Wet 3 days prior.. I added it to the chart. Im bad at noting the differences in it so I didn't add it until I was sure it was dried up.

My temperature hasn't really gone up that much yet though so who knows.. Maybe it'll take a few more days. I'll keep that temp in for awhile longer but I have a feeling it was only from the temperature. Its the only high one on it and it seems like it doesn't belong.

You may only have one day of getting a + OPK. the OPKs tell you that when you get that + you should ovulate anywhere from 12 to 72 hours later.

As for the temp, if its throwing off your chart it will not hurt to throw it out.
