Okay my chart has been a little crazy, we thought I ovulated but then my temp came back down, but anyway I was waking up and then falling back asleep till my normal temp time some this past week. I thought maybe this could be messing up the readings since it is supposed to be after 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep. So this am I woke at 6 15 am my normal time is 630 am so I took my temp and it was 97.71 then I went back to sleep and took it at 8am and it was 98.0. This is a huge diff. I know I should keep the lower one at 6 15am but I wondering could my temps earlier this week been messed up by going back to sleep, and what should I do take it when I get up after 3 hours or at my normal time?

You should use the 6.15 am time, the later it is in the day your temp will naturally rise more as the ambient temp rises (your bedroom gets warmer as the day goes on), thats why they say that you need to pick a time and stick with it. I temp at 5.30am as thats when DH gets up and nearly always manages to wake me up as well, then I go back to sleep until 7am.

ETA - I'd say with the temp drop you are having now and the cm that you are probably only getting ready to O now, try and take some notice of your CP as well if you can. If it is high, soft and open then you are definately fertile now and O should be on its way.

I would use the earlier temp, too. I find myself in that situation all the time, so I have started to take my temp at 4 in the morning since I always seem to naturally wake up at that time---why, I have no clue!! I am a really light sleeper and often get up numerous times throughout the night, so it's really hard to pinpoint a time that I get 3 consecutive hours of sleep.

Use the 6:15 temp, its only 15 minutes before your normal time, it wouldn't make much difference.
