Can someone look at my chart and tell me if it looks like my LP is too short. Here is My Chart You can look at cycles 1-5 and the current cycle 14. Before having my daughter, and before being on bcp's, my LP was almost always 12-14 days, the average was 13. But now I'm lucky when my LP is 11 days, and I seem to spot at 10dpo. This cycle, which is my first cycle since having my paraguard iud removed, I started spotting at 5dpo, then again at 8dpo, and now 9dpo I'm spotting again, but I'm pretty sure AF will be here today or tomorrow.

Last time I went off bcp's I figured it would take my body a month or two to get back to normal, but I went off bcp's in december 2005, and after 5 cycles I still had a short LP (chart 5 has a 13 day LP, but I had a chemical pregnancy, so that could be why). I have no plans to ttc anytime soon, but I'm worried when and if I do, it'll be difficult. I already had several chemical pregnancies and one later miscarriage before I had my daughter, and now I'm really beginning to wonder if something is wrong with me.

I have recently gone to my doctor and this was one of my questions. My LP is about 11 days long. I asked him if that was a problem and he told me that it could be part of the problem. He said that he likes to see the LP last 14 days. I had to fax my chart to him when I left and the next day they called me to schedule a progesterone check. (It helped that I had already been charting because if I hadn't then I would have had to wait for the check after a month or two of charting). I should hear my progesterone results today. (I will let you know what they say).

As far as a short LP goes, he told me that there are medicines out there that would help with that. (I am guessing progesterone or something like Clomid. Not sure if they are the same thing.) Anyway, he did tell me that there will be a risk of multiple pregnancies if I decide to take this medicine. Hahahaha!! I told DH that we may be done in one fell swoop.

I hope this helps. While it can help prevent you from conceiving, they do have meds out there to help you. I know that I was hoping to conceive naturally (No meds) but if I can't, I can't. I don't know if this what is bothering you or not. It is a personal decision. Good Luck!

I just got my results back. My progesterone level was 11.7. They said that it looked like I O'd.

Thanks for the advice. I did conceive my daughter naturally, and back then I did wonder if I had a lp problem, because it still was only 12 days at times. And I had the chemical pregnancies. When I got pregnant with her my progesterone levels were fine, I actually think they were high, but my doc put me on progesterone as a precaution. I still don't know if that's what helped or not, since I had already made it farther than I did with the chemical pregnancies.

I have my annual appointment next month, so I'm going to ask them about running bloodwork then. The spotting before AF is really annoying.
