I have a quick question for you fabulous ladies... since this is our second cycle charting Im not sure whats the "norm"

Last month my coverline was 36.05 (celcius) and this time its beginning to look like its going to be closer to 36.25 (give or take). Im just wondering if this is normal to have such a big difference in coverline. I know that its just an estimation made by FF but Im just curious

Also...this morning my son woke up at 4:00am ...teething...and I went and got him. I didnt temp. He lay awake for most of the night after that while I just lay there with him listening to him stir . I didn't move too much, but I wasn't sleeping either. How much is that going to affect my temp? Its not a crucial time of the month for temps or anything but I am just wondering if just laying there counts as rest. LOL

I am FULL of goofy questions this morning!!!

Thanks All!!!

Hey! I think that temps just seem to differ from month to month . . .this is my third cycle charting, and already my temps are higher than normal for the beginning of the cycle. I am pretty sure that is normal

Not too sure about the not actually sleeping though--I'll leave that question for the experts!

It's normal for your coverline to fluctuate from month to month.

But one thing that is of concern is your low temps. Basal body temperatures that are consistently under 36.5 celcius can indicate low thyroid function - are you hypothyroid that you know of? Wilson's Syndrome is a thyroid condition that is often diagnosed because of low basal temps. There are lots of natural things you can do to support your thyroid (like Flax Seed Oil, B6 vitamins) and you should see higher pre-ovulatory temperatures if the treatment is effective.

I did some quick research on Wilson's Syndrom and I feel that before you start getting worried that you might have it (I was when I read this...check out my temps) You should take a look at this website.

http://www.thyroid.org/professionals/publi...16_wilsons.html

It's the American Thyroid Association public health statement concerning the issue.

The one thing I pulled from there that specifically realates to this is:

"The diagnosis of "Wilson's syndrome" is based on an incorrect definition of normal body temperature: that it is 98.6ºF. (Mackowiak, et al. JAMA 1992;268:1578-1580) measured oral temperature in 148 healthy persons. Average temperature varied throughout the day. At 8 AM, the average temperature was 97.6ºF with more than 50% of all the measurements less than 98.6ºF, and many less than 98.0ºF. This study concluded that "thirty-seven degrees centigrade (98.6ºF) should be abandoned as a concept relevant to clinical thermometry."

Although I agree the temps don't look too low, mine go a lot lower, I don't think it would hurt to take a flax seed supplement. Flax is an excellent source of Omega 3's for anyone, not just someone with a thyroid issue. For me I noticed I do better with weight loss when I take flax seed oil, or eat flax seeds on a regular basis. Of course I do have a thyroid issue, so maybe it was the flax helping support my under active thyroid...lol

Agreed. Flax seed is really good for you no matter what is going on...even if you are perfectly healthy. So it wouldn't hurt to use it.

I just don't want you to start having undue worry about something that isn't even recognized by the medical community.

I am not good when temps are in celsius.

BUT, your coverline can vary.

For some it may be constant, but for others it can vary. Mine changed a bit sometimes from cycle to cycle.

As for the other question..... really you want to temp after you have the 3 hours of sleep. Even resting, your temp will go down, but it will not level out and be as accurate as if you were sleeping.
