I was just curious how long most of us have been doing it. Also why did you start doing it?

I started because I wanted to see when I ovulated and also have a sense of control. I have been doing it about 13 cycles now.

This is my 1st cycle of charting. I wanted to know when I was O'ing and be able to plan when would be the best time to TTC.

Oh and I was jealous everyone else had one and I did not.....)

I've been charting a little over 6 years. I started charting before we got married (6 years on Aug 18th) because we wanted to use a method of natural family planning. I wanted a few months to get to know my body before we actually used it to avoid pregnancy. We've used it for both avoiding and conceiving. I've been a charting instructor for almost 2 years now.

I've been charting since November last year. Its mainly to gather info to give to the doctors when they eventually agree with me that I need a referal to get my cycles sorted out. I am Oing and apparently my hormones are Ok 1 week prior to AF and during AF but they've never tested them to see what is happening prior to O. I am regularly having 50 day cycles, which really doesn't help much in terms of TTC.

They may not be doing very comprehensive bloodwork. I'm getting help for my cycles from a doctor who uses Natural Procreative Technologies (http://www.fertilitycare.org) - she's got me going in to have my estrogen/progesterone levels checked every other day while I have mucus, and again every other day during the luteal phase - to get a very comprehensive look and what is going on. My cycles are very long too, usually between 35 - 90 days. I'm not getting help for TTC though, but more for my overall health. Most of the people who use NaPro Technology are TTC.

Don't lose hope though with those long cycles - I have children conceived on CD23, CD54 and CD60! It's possible, just frustrating.

I started charting about 7 years ago. We learned NFP to avoid pregnancy, but have succesfully used it twice to achieve pregnancy.
