Is it normal for temps to be all over the place during the period between m/c and your first AF? My guess is maybe I won't O before AF comes...it's been over 2 weeks since D&C...I started charting the week after. I bought some OPK's, and used the first one yesterday (mostly just because I want to avoid being intimate around that time, since I want to wait....) I got a negative HPT last week, so my levels are at least low enough to not be detected anymore.....any clue as to when it's normal to ovulate again? Think maybe I won't? I'm a scientist, and looking at my chart, it just seems all screwy, and I'm wondering if this is normal...the scientist in me always has to know why, when, where, and how? hehehe[/b]

So sorry for your loss!
Yes, it's normal for some bounciness in your temps. Ovulation *generally* occurs within the first 6-8 weeks following a miscarriage, often sooner than that. Hang in there! It's not annovulatory until the whole cycle is over. You can see that as the HCG dropped off (finally giving you your negative HPT), your temps have also come down. That means progesterone levels have also dropped off. Progesterone is responsible for the rise in temperatures. Now that your progesterone is getting down to a non-pregnantl level, you can expect estrogen to respond by rising to bring about the entire ovulatory process (mucus = estrogen rising). Just watch and see! Best wishes!
