As you can see from my chart last cycle, I had several days of spotting following my normal AF. This has been happening for the past 5 cycles or so.

I went in for my pre-TTC checkup and asked my doc about this. She said that it's normal. End of story.

I'm reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and it says that spotting after 6 days of a normal AF can be an indication of a problem with my LH phase being too short. For reference, I dont think I Oed on cd 17, I think it was actually 15.

Thoughts??

Your LP is a little short hun, but the spotting I dont see anything wrong with it. You spot after AF, you have O spotting which is awesome and then spot before AF. I would just be a little worried about your LP being short is all, the spotting really isnt a huge thing.

Yeah, the idea that I only had a 10 day LP is what is freaking me out, especially combined with what TCOYF just said about excessive spotting after AF being a result of the uteran lining not shedding correctly. I get so miffed when doctors just dismiss concerns. We're going to start TTC in 2 months, and I would rather not miscarry, obviously. If this cycle also indicates a short LP, I will take both month's charts in and see what she can do about it, hopefully giving me progesterone creame to lengthen my LP.

In looking at my chart, what day do you think that I Oed last cycle? Do you think it was CD 17, as FF indicates? I really think it was 2 days earlier, but I dont know, it was my first time charting a full cycle.

I have the book myself hun, and I think FF is right with your O date. You can buy progesterone cream at Wal Mart, I use it after I O and its made my LP go from 9-11 days to 13 days. So its helped with me big time. I have a day or two of spotting after AF myself, but I am sure its nothing major.

Oh, I had no idea that it was something that you got OTC.

Well, I am going to disagree. Based on CM info I think you might have O'd on day 13 and just had a slow temp rise. That would make your luteal phase just right. Also, your current chart you look like you are about to O which would line up with last month's chart. You might want to try adding OPKs to the mix.

I totally agree. Though I think you Oed on CD15. And according to your OPK's last cycle that would match right up. I don't see any issue at all with your LP. Long time no see Breanna!! How are you doing?!

I've actually been using OPKs longer than I've been charting, I really find them helpful. 3 cycles ago, I got a + on CD 15, and then proceeded to have a 29 day cycle. The next, I got a + on CD 14, and had a 28 day cycle. I've always assumed that I actually Oed the day of, or the day following the + OPK, not 3 days later as FF indicated. I thought that I had a 13ish day LP.

I had a ton of EWCM tinged with brown yesterday afternoon, and what I thought might have been O cramps, but a clearly negative OPK. I'm hoping to O within the next couple of days. I just hope that my temps will indicate the same thing.

Thanks for all of your help!

I would temp a couple more cycles hun just to see what those LP say. Your LP can change 1-2 days each cycle.

Yeah, I realize that it's still early to really get much from my charts, which is why I'm glad that I started sooner rather than later, as we are set to start TTC in August. I hope to have a clearer picture at that point.

On a bright note, I got a + OPK just now, and have been having NASTY O cramps all day. I actually feel ill.

My cycle was the same way this month. I had really nasty cramps and I think I O'd the same day I got a +OPK. I had a negative by the evening time.
