Hi ladies,
I am currently charting in order to prevent pregnancy (lol... wish it was charting to conceive), and this is my first time charting & temping WITH a baby in the house - ie with non consistent waking times, getting up during the night etc etc...

I am just curious what I should do about my temps. I am going to keep them all at the 'correct' temperature, as opposed to using the 'temperature corrector' on FF to fix them up. There are 3 or 4 temps that i think could stuff up my chart as far as accurately predicting ovulation goes, so I'm just wondering if I should discard them??

here is the link to my chart:
My Chart

I think the days which may effect getting a coverline are (so far) CD5 & CD10 - and possibly CD2.

So my 3 questions for you lovely ladies are:

1) SHOULD I discard any temps?
2) If so, WHICH should I discard?
3) If so, WHEN should I discard them?

When I was charting in the past, I generally ovulated on CD13, so I should hopefully see a coverline around CD15/16... so maybe if i have no coverline by then I should discard those other temps, to see if it makes a difference????

thanks!

I wouldn't discard any or temp correct any yet. The only temp that may affect your coverline would be cd9, but I wouldn't worry about it. IF you wanted you could discard the earlier temps (cd5) but I wouldn't worry about it. Pay close attention to your cm and if you usually O'd around cd13 then I'd be either avoiding or using protection right now! lol I'm not good at advice on avoiding hopefully I helped some. You could check out the NFP board they are better at the avoiding pg! Good Luck!

I agree, don't discard. If you are using charting to avoid, you need to interpret your chart yourself and DO NOT rely on FF. They often jump the gun and give an early O day, and then change it later. Do you know the rules for avoiding? If not it might be a good idea to take a course on preventing through NFP or FAM. NFP is more effective than FAM since FAM can mess with your mucus pattern. FAM is also only as reliable as the barrier method used, keep that in mind.

I took my NFP class through the Couple to Couple League, they have a home study program which is probably pretty good. I went through the class with another couple teaching it and learned a LOT. It was definately worth the time and money. They are a Catholic organization, not sure if that would bother you or not. I thought the material learned was excellent though.

I would also suggest going to the NFP forum.
