DH and I are on our 2nd cycle ttc and I went out and bought the TCOYF book and have been researching this charting thing. So I decided, what the heck, I'll start this month even though it's mid cycle. I'm on day 14 of a NORMALLY 28 day cycle.

Here's my concerns. Last month, mid cycle we decided that we were ready to start. So we went from condoms to nothing (so no effects from BCP or anything) and I was always REGULAR - 28 days before this. AF would arrive every 4th Saturday morning on the freaking DOT!!! Now, I never kept track of ovulation. But last month I was 5 days late. Which in all my years have never been late like that before. I attributed it to my head playing tricks on me maybe?

But, my first big question is, my temps have been 98+ all week. I have not had EWCM at all yet this cycle. And I do get it, I just don't know when usually. Now I'm concerned with my temps that high. I do have hypothyroidism and I am on synthroid. Will this effect my morning temps? I read that if you're "hyper" you will have higher temps, but I also read that synthroid may increase your temps? If there are any ladies out there with more experience I would really like to know if I have a problem or not.

I feel like giving up at this point.

I take synthroid for my hypo. I take 125's. I do tend to have a bit higher temps normally than a lot of other girls' charts that I have looked at, but it evens out in the end. I have a bit higher end pre-O temp, then a pretty high post-O temp, but tend to have a pretty clearn coverline, and a clear thermal shift. AT least last cycle I did anyways. The cycle before was right after my m/c, so it was a bit all over the place. This cycle seems to be hovering on the high end as well though.
Sorry I don't have an answer as to whether that is why your temp is above 98, just thought I'd share my personal experience.
Is it possible though that you have already O'd? That's why your temps are above 98? On average, women O around CD14 or so...especially on an average 28 day cycle. Just a thought...Can we see your chart?

I don't have on online yet, I've only been doing it by hand. Let me see if I can throw it online, I'm not sure how easy it all is, but I'll try.

I didn't think I O'd yet because of my CM. but I have had the normal cramping.. first on both sides... so I was expecting it and then no CM

I'm just worried. It probably doesn't help that I figured I'd jump in right in the middle!!! But I did travel last week so I'm sure I'm all screwed up.

I would definately recommend asking this Q in the Thyroid Disorders board. The reason why they say that Synthroid can makes your temps higher is if it were to bring your levels too low and make you hyper instead of hypo. The drug Synthroid itself at the right level has no side effects. It's just the synthetic T4 hormone. I would recommend getting your levels rechecked to be sure you're at the right dose.
Keep in mind, normal temp is 98.7. So anything around 98 and above is within normal range. Only time I would be concerned is when your post-O temps are over 99 or so.

I think the only change you would see from the synthroid would be as SHampton (Sarah?), sorry I cant see siggies on this puter, said. If it was making you hyper, or if you just started it you would see a gradual rise from low temps to normal temps. I was super low before I started the meds, like 96 pre-o. Now I am still low 97.1, but much more normal range. It was not a drastic increasee, but rather as the numbers improved the temps went up slowly.
