ok ladies first off THANK YOU soooo much for all your advise lately...you can kick me out of this board whenever you want i know im soo annoying....so here is my new problem/question.....

so i took the advice of some of you and bought a new BBT therm. this one shows 4 digits instead of 3 like current one. so to test it outlast nite i literally took my temp. with both therm. at the same time to see if maybe my current therm. was broken and thats why i kept getting 97.3....so when i put both in my mouth (at the same time) my new one said 98.39 and the current one said 98.4 so i thought it was ok since it must round it off....well dh woke me up earlier today i usually temp around 7:10am so it was 6:30 and i took my temp with my current therm to see an dit said 97.3 again so then i took it right after with the new one i bought and it came out 97.12...thats a pretty big diff. so i currently put on my chart the 97.12 temp. but how wierd is that! last nite they matched in the temp and this morning they were off...i also went back to sleep after that i moved around quite a bit though but didnt get up then i took my temp again using the new one i bought and it was at 97.32 whihc is understandable b/c i moved aroundquite abit then i took it with my old one and it still said 97.3 so im thinking that i am right in using the 97.12 temp. and that i should just throw away my other therm. thanks so much again!

p.s. i also started taking FertilAid...it has Vitex and some other stuff that supposedly helps you O...i started last nite and took the three tablets before bed so im crossing my fingers!!!!!!!!

Don't forget that time can play a part in your temp too. You should be taking it at the same time everyday. I would also only use one thermometer. It wont matter if they differ, it just matters that you are using the same one everyday at the same time everyday. Using 2 thermometers and not always using the same one to take the temp from can change the whole affect of your chart. I would stick with the new one because have the two decimal places is more accurate.

Yea, I would assume it's broken and just use your new one because it's probably 10 times more accurate than the other one.

If your old therm gave you a different temp than 97.3 last night I would assume it is not broken. If you took you r temp with the old one first and then used the new one, your mouth will be colder from having the cold therm in it, so the temp could very well be different. Even if I use the same therm a few seconds after the first it will often give a different temp from one time until the next.

I would continue to use the old one this cycle and switch to the new one next cycle. Or temp with both and make note of the temp with the new one, but actually chart with the old one.

I think you're overanalyzing this a bit too much girl!! The old thermometer, was it a BBT? I'm assuming not. Fever thermometers are not as sensitive as BBTs. You can sit for 5min taking temp after temp and you'll get different readings. Why? B/C your body is making changes the longer you stay away and different things effect your temp. And there will be differences in temps b/c they are different thermometers. I would stick with the first temp. I know you're looking for a change but changing your variables such as taking your temp more than 1x and using more than 1 thermometer to get the results you're looking for, isn't going to change what's going on. Go check out FF, there are women on there who have flat temps. It's a good thing. It is way harder to see a pattern where you have erratic BBT than if you have flat temps. What I would suggest is if you don't get a BFP this cycle, next cycle try vaginal temping. It will give you flat temps but the temps are usually more accurate. GL sweetie and try not to obsess about it!

I also agree with Meghan. Keep using the old one until next cycle. It obviously is not broken.

I agree with Meghan seeing as it did say something different last night its best to keep the same one throughout the whole cycle.

If you took your temp an hour early, you *could think that you r temp may have been 97.5 today. If it goe sup tomorrow and FF doesn't give you CH a few days after, adjust it to 97.5 and see what it does.
