I have a BBT thermometer (duh ) and it measures to the 1/100th (I think. I am having serious brain issues this morning.) For instance, my temp this morning was 97.24 - but on my chart, I can only enter in to the 1/10ths. (97.2 for example.)

If my temp ever hits 97.25 (for example), do I just round up to 97.3, or leave it at 97.2?

(I so hope I didn't confuse you!! )

**ETA** and I just thought of another question. How big of a difference does it make in time when taking temps? I temped yesterday at 7:30 a.m., and this morning at 6:30 a.m. I have a 1 year old, and he gets up usually at either one of those times.

I am not sure how you owuld round it, but I would say like any other thing, up over 5, down under 5. If you temp early just make sur you note that somewhere.

I am so happy my BBT measures to the tenths, it would confuse me if it didn't.

Well, there are really two options.

You can round temps, like you said, just following the normal rules of rounding you learned in school. 97.24 rounds down to 97.2, 97.25 rounds up to 97.3. Or you can get yourself a chart that lets you put in hundredths ... like Fertility Friend, which is free. I would probably get something where I could use the whole temp. Having the super-accurate BBT is kind of useless if your chart can't be as accurate, kwim? And it's good to be accurate!

Time is important when you're temping. Since your DS's wake-up time varies, set your alarm for about 5 minutes before his earliest time (so 6:25 am). Temp then, write it down (unless your BBT has a recall function), and then go back to bed and doze until he wakes up. That's the easiest way to make sure you're temping at the same time. For some people oversleeping doesn't matter, but for some it makes a huge difference. Better safe than sorry. It could definitely make a difference with detecting O and everything.

I agree with that. I would use Fertility Friend since it allows you to put in the exact temp. I set my alarm for 5:30 everyday (even on weekends). I usually take my temp and go back to sleep until 6:15. It keeps my temps consitant and accurate.

I use FF and FC they both let me put my temps in the way they come up on my BBT.
