hi ladies! im not a charter, but i definitely need some imput from charters right now! im sure an ultrasound can help but im just wondering how this all would work...??

ever since my second son, i would get a regular 7 day period then another 7 days or so of spotting. so in april i got my period on april 5th...i don't remember for exactly how long that one went on for. we DTD that got us pregnant on april 26th. i did in fact get prego. so for now im counting my weeks from that date so don't mind my ticker, and on wednesday i do go in for my first appointment.

but im wondering from you guys, the charting pros, where would i really count from? and what would make fertilization happen when it did? im just trying to figure out logically how it all works cause i have never charted or did the TTC thing in my life and im just so curious.

a good friend of mine who has charted for a long time said i would take the date of when we DTD and minus 2 weeks and count from there. so that would make me due for around january 16th....

what do you ladies get? and please help explain it to me. thanks!!

Is your cycles regular? If they are say 28 days then take the day you got full flow as CD1 then go from there, once you hit CD14 that should be the date you Oed if you have a 28 day cycle, so that would be the day you conceived.

^^ that is complete gibberish to me...

i would usually get my period on the same date (like every 3rd) with give or take a few days (sometimes the 5th, some months the 1st...etc.) so i was pretty regular, i always knew i would get my period iwhtint he first week of the month.

if i count 14 days..then that gives me the conception date of april 19th...but i didn't even have the sex that got us pregnant until april 26th so how does that work?

Since you're not charting, you don't know the exact day of conception. You know that the intercourse that impregnated you was on Apr. 26. Sooo, you could have gotten pregnant anywhere from the 26th-31st because the sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days. You can use this calculator to calc a due date:

Based on a date of conception of Apr. 28th (estiminating right in the middle of the possible time frame), your due date would be approx 1-18-08.

Based on a lmp of Apr. 5th, your due date would be approx 1-9-08.

So April 5th would be considered CD1. If you could remember back to March which day you started AF, that would be CD1, and April 4 would be the last CD. It could be 24, 28, 33, etc. HTH

see this makes sense to me, and i figured it was anywhere form that day until the 3-5 days later while the sperm spent it's time hanging out in there.
april 9th i think would be waaaay to early since it is 3 weeks BEFORE we DTD that made baby. i did visit a midwife for a consult on homebirth and she said that the 17 or 19th was our EDD. so your dates seem to make sense for what she said too.

so im actually thinking im a little further along i guess....this all is so weird! lol
