Hey Everyone! I am brand new here, but definitely not new to TTC. I can't wait to jump in and get to know all of you.

I have a question, and I am hoping that some of you may have some good input.

My husband and I have a perfect 2 1/2 year old daughter who was conceived very easily. We have been 'casually' TTC (BD regularly, 3-4x/week) since she was born, moreso over the past 1 1/2 years. But nothing. So, I decided to start charting to see if I am O'ing at all or if maybe it's very late in my cycle, because nothing seems to add up.

I am OPK'ing/temping/charting CM. But, I am officially thoroughly confused. I had a - OPK on CD17, and a + on CD18 around noon, but I tested twice on CD18 (because I was skeptical).. and I had a - OPK around 8pm. So.. which is it?! Could my surge have been THAT fast, or could the first + have been a false positive? I have had no temp spike, in fact the opposite.. my temp is today on CD19 is .4 degrees lower then it was on CD17, and .2 lower then CD18. No EWCM at all, bone dry. I will OPK today and update, I just don't know what to think. I was thinking that if I did surge on CD18, then I wouldn't actually O until CD19/20, and if this cycle happens to be on the lower end (mine range from 20-42 days.. lol), then that seems really late in my cycle to O, and maybe that's why I haven't conceived yet.

ANYWAY, sorry for the long post.. if anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. I plan to chart for a few months before I go see my OB.. because I assume they would be helpful. Like all of you, I just want to know what's going on with my body and why things don't seem to be working like they should.

Kim

Hey welcome over! I hope that your stay here is short and sweet.

Okay, can you provide a link to your chart?

And yes, your LH surge really can be that quick. POAS.com talks about it, but her site is down right now.

I know I have read that a surge can last as few as 10 hours.. but you never know what's true on the internet.. lol.

Here is the link to my chart. I started charting with this cycle, but didn't start temping until CD14.. and OPK'ing on CD11.. I just figured halfway through this cycle that I may as well practice for the rest of this cycle (I was going to wait until the next):

I'm going to bet that your temp jumps up tomorrow, meaning that you are actually Oing today. The positive OPK comes BEFORE you O, so watch your temps for the next few days, and BD like crazy just in case. Good luck!

Yeah, already doing that.. lol. My OPK on CD17 (afternoon and night) was DEFINITELY -, but yesterday I had what I thought was a definite + around noon.. but then a - around 8pm.. and now a - today close to 1pm. Would it vanish that quickly? Hopefully my temps will go up!

So was my + yesterday 'real'? I know a lot of people OPK 2x/day so they don't miss their surge, but what if you get one + and then a -? I could see how a - and then a + would make that + pretty reliable, but what about the reverse and a - the CD before/after?

Sorry about all of the questions!!

Do you still have the OPK? Can you take a picture of it? There is the possibility that you *might* be misinterpreting it. Maybe it's almost a +, but quite.

Its a possibility that the OPK yesterday (the + one) was the correct one - meaning that it detected your surge. And you could be O'ing today.

Nope, I threw them all away.. lol.. even the other ones you don't know about, hahaha. But they were definite negatives, WAY lighter then the control line. The + was a definite positive, the T and C lines were the same, dark and bold.

Welcome! I think that you might be oing today, too and will have to see what happens with your temps over the next couple days. Best of luck hun!

The lack of any cm makes me think that maybe you'll o tomorrow or the next day instead. Do you normally experience fertile cm at all? If not, then it may be the lack of fertile cm making it difficult to conceive, and you might want to try some preseed. If you do normally experience fertile cm, then it should appear within the next 2 days. Keep bd'ing.

Hmm.. I am not sure where my posts keep going, I've replied several times but don't see them! Anyway, my CM is clear, thin and 'watery'.. definitely not creamy/sticky/EW. I am not even sure what watery means, so I am off to look that up!

I will be sure to update tomorrow.. thanks everyone! I hope you all had a good 4th!

I wish I had a big temp increase to report . Check out my chart again. Ugh, what is going on!? My CM (if I actually get it from my cervix.. because there isn't much) is clear, moist.. and I am not sure how to describe this.. not 'sticky'.. I guess kind of 'tacky'? Or gummy? But my overall vaginal feeling is still dry. Should I be differentiating between these two on my chart somehow?

Clear wet, watery is fertile.

It looks like you are getting ready to O. You can O as long as 4-5 days after a pos OPK. You also may have caught the end of the surge with the +OPK. I wouldn't worry so much about it, you could delay O by stressing too much.

But, you temps and CM indicate O is now, or soon. Go BD!

My CM has been getting a tiny bit white/creamy as the day goes on.. so I'm hoping for a temp spike and EWCM tomorrow . Neg. OPK today. I had never read that you can O 4-5 days after a + OPK, so thanks Meghan (I had read 24-32 hrs everywhere).. hopefully that's the case AND I have a longer cycle this time around.
