First, I want to say hi, and welcome to the fertility charting board. I'm Stephanie.... one of your co-hosts here.
Temping doesn't tell you when you are going to O. It just shows you when you did AFTER the fact. Once you are more in tune with your body, you may be able to see a pattern that indicates that you are about to O. For example, I am noticing now that right before I O, my temps drop into the lower 96's. I may O tomorrow since today my temp was 96.7.
When you are temping, you are usually doing other things as well, such as using OPK's or charting your CM and/or your CP as well. These are also a good indicator of when you are going to O. CM is usually watery or eggwhite type right before you O, and CP is usually high, soft and open, which also tells you that you are about to O.
If you are interested in charting, I strongly recommend going to fertilityfriend.com and setting up a free account. They have a course via e-mail that teaches you everything you need to know about charting, and you can input your temps and other info there and see your chart. If you have any other questions, just let me know, and I'll try to help you.
