What made you start charting? With me it was because my cycles were so screwed up I wanted to see when and if I oed.

Well, I hate being on BCP, and we will be TTC starting in October so I decided to get off the BCP and start charting so that I will be ready when we TTC and so I will also have a taste of charting for preventing because after #2 is born I don't want to go back on any type of hormonal BC.

I started charting as a way to TTA. For me it was two reasons, one because I don't like taking hormones when i don't need them and two because it goes against my beliefs to use artifical forms of birth control.
Now I use it to TTC, so all the years spent charting are coming in handy since we seem to be having a little trouble getting preggo.

I was having a lot of depression on the pill. I then bought the book, Taking Charge of your Fertility and it was about FAM. I started in Jan 2005 and I am looking forward to trying it to TTC.

I have been charting since the first official month of TTC. I guess I am just OCD and like to be as meticulous with things as possible.

I have a friend who uses it a BC and raved about it. Then I watched as another friend TTC for six months only to find out that she wasn't ovulation on her own and would have been trying forever. I didn't want to go thru the heartache every month of a BFN if I was not even ovulating.

(See my into) I started Charting because In the last 2 1/2 years since I had my last baby I have gotten pregnant 4 times with all pregnancies ending in m/c while I have been on some sort of BC (Depo and Pills) I felt it was the best thing for me because my DH and I did not want to put my body through any more.

I started charting because of my m/c in March.
I didn't realize just how much I wanted another child until I miscarried. We had been trying for four years. I wanted to try and speed up the process by making sure we are BDing on the right days. OPK's are great but can give you a flase sense of when you O. Charting takes most of the guess work out of it.

I started because i wanted to get a better idea about my cycles. How long they are, how long the LP is, when i O, etc etc.
Of course the first month i do it -- I have my longest cycle in my 11 years of dealing with AF lol.
Yes, I have 11 YEARS of dates written down. This is the first time i ever made it over 28 days!

I miscarried in May got a positive opk in June. AF was late but I tested negative. She was late by 5 days. This led me to believe that I didn't really "O". So, I decided to chart so that I could know more about my body post m/c.

The only reason why i started charting was because I started a fertility program, and my OB advised me to chart so she can see if I am ovulating or not.
