Ok, here are the very basics.
Don't check you cervix right now. Wait until you are more familiar with your other fertility signs. CP is a secondary sign and can often be misleading, especially if you may have a different feel because of your surgery. I did not start checking my cervix until about 3 months ago, and I have been charting for over 7 years. I was even charting to avoid pregnancy, which means it needs to be more accurate. Not checking my cervix was fine and we didn't have an oops, ever.
Take your temp as close to the same time everyday. If you wake up a little early, take it then. The three hours of sleep are more important than the precise time.
Now to CM. If you feel wet or slippery, either just in general or when you wipe it is fertile CM. You can mark it watery or EW. If it is cloudy and feels like lotion when you rub it with your fingers it is creamy. Sticky CM is sort of tacky with very little stretch. eggwhite is normally very strechy, or almost snotty, like when a kid has a runny nose from being cold, an allergy or crying a lot. Sometimes EW will be a little cloudy or even slightly yellowish, usually as it transitions for creamy to more fertile. If you have not O'd yet consider creamy to be the begining of fertile CM. Some women don't get classic EWCM. Some just get creamy or watery.
Does that help any? or was it too much at once?
