between when the egg is released and the time your temp shows a spike?

I have been taking my temp every morning at seven. My temp rose the morning of Monday, July 30. The last time dh & I bd'd was the evening of the 27th, so...

I was wondering how many hours before the spike the egg is released. Is it the twelve-twenty four hour time frame? Sorry if these questions are lame; it's been a very long time since I charted.

The rise occurs fairly quickly after ovulation. I can't remember the exact numbers though. I'm looking it up for you now. Do you have an online chart that we can view?

No, I'm sorry, I don't have an online chart.

My temp rose the morning of July 30, up to 98.0 from 97.5 the previous day. My post-ov temps so far are between 98.2 to 98.4 (the highest) the morning of Aug 2nd.

So basically I'm wondering if ovulation occured the morning, afternoon or evening of July 29th.
