So I've been playing around with my chart to see what would happen under certain scenarios (ie what would give me crosshairs) and it's kind of interesting.

I have a couple of high days, contributing to the "rocky mountain" profile of my chart - but I KNOW on those days that when I finally woke up for good at 7, I had been tossing and turning a lot and not really sleeping since about 4am. I figure that doing all of that tossing and turning and not really sleeping has got to raise my bbt, right? All of the temps on mornings where I slept really well and woke up from a dead sleep in the same position I was in when I went to sleep, my BBT is in a much more narrow range - 96.8 - 97.2. I didn't realize that FF had the ability to mark things like "sleep deprived" on their chart and when I sat down and put in some feelings/observations in that section it was clear that on the days when I didn't sleep well my temps were higher and out of the norm.

So anyway I was playing with the numbers to see what would give me crosshairs and in discarding those two recent high temps when I had a horrible night's sleep, FF seems a lot happier and to give me a coverline where I'd expect it based on past experience (I have charged BBT for the first two weeks of my cycle before for my endocrinologist to help understand what is going on with my thyroid - before taking synthroid my average bbt in first two weeks of my cycle was 95.5-96 and he was very happy that I was averaging about a degree higher when I stopped keeping track).

So am I kidding myself if I discard those two abnormally high numbers? I don't want to feel like I'm "fudging" but they seem to throw things way out of whack with FF. I currently have them discarded. I am also going to get a better BBT thermometer. This is my first time charting for fertility. I did have a bit of a dip today but still have temps over what I consider my "average".

BTW if my temp is 97.4 tomorrow FF gives me crosshairs regardless so it may be moot. If my temp stays the same FF only gives me crosshairs if I discard those two temps. My CM is consistent with an O on that date though, it was watery and then EWCM and then today is very dry.

I would probably leave them but mark it as sleep deprived so that you get an open circle on those days. It's really up to you though.
