If I'm not dead tired I will count in my head until my thermometer beeps, it's supposed to beep in 45 seconds but sometimes it goes well over 45 seconds. Does that mean it's time to change the batteries? I was wondering with the thermometers sitting on store shelves for who know's how long, should we change our batteries to get more accurate readings? (I tell you, I worry about everything!). I bought my thermometer at the end of April and I changed my batteries tonight just incase.

Thats normal. My BBT takes so long to beep that sometimes I just give up waiting and use the regular thermometer, it doesnt read to the nearest hundreth, but its way faster. I guess it takes so long because it changes every little switch in temp. Last time I was looking in the mirror at it and just when I thought it was about to beep (because it stayed blinking at 97.7 for ten seconds) it kept going up to 97.8 then 97.9 so I stopped and just wrote 97.7 I hate BBT. Does anyone know a BBT brand that reads temp. as quick as a regular termometer? The BBT one takes so long that I start drooling and you can't suck it in because if you do the F***ing temperature keeps changing cause the air. Just reading this as I post it makes me so mad, LOL

I think its almost time for me to change mine, especially if i'm not pregnant this cycle. When i switch it on, it sometimes makes this very weird beep noise that i know its going flat. It only does it once and everyother time it's fine.

I found today that my BBT took awhile to beep after temping. It was strange because usually when its done reading the temp, it doesn't take long to start beeping.

Mine takes like 2 minutes.. maybe it needs new batteries and that could explain my crazy chart.

Mine takes about 45 seconds I guess. I always count the beeps, it will make a single beep every few seconds so you know it is in the right spot. It takes about 15 'little beeps' before it does the 'i'm finished' beep.

If it is cold in my room it takes longer to finish.

I just realized that there is no way to change the batteries in mine! I guess that means I'll have to just replace it when it dies. Uggh! I'll make sure I get one that I can change the batteries in next time! lol

ummm...mine takes like at least 5 min at the beginning of my cycle and sometimes almost 10 minutes after O when it is higher. My temps are much more stable and accurate with this BBT than the one I had that only took 45 sec. It also has a low battery indicator so I know when it is going bad.
