Hi.
My chart is all over the place and I don't know why ff hasn't taken my CH away. I'm happy that I still see the CH, but I don't understand it. (And, I haven't tested yet because I'm not prepared to see a BFN.)
My question is... how much does having a poor sleep pattern affect temps?
I've TRIED as hard as possible to remain on a schedule with taking temps. I take them as soon as I wake up every morning.
Here's the problem... I wake up at 5, 6, or 7 am (depending on my body. The alarm is set for 7:25 but I never make it that long). I take the temp when I first awake. I can't just go back to sleep because when I do wake up, I have to use the bathroom and know I won't get three good hours of sleep before getting back up to get my temp.
On top of that, I ususally fall asleep at midnight, wake up at one or two, then usually four, and then as I just mentioned earlier.
Is that why my chart is so screwed up? I swear I did O on the 31st. My CM corrosponded with it and I haven't seen much since.
And, I had O pains the 31st.
Now I don't know if I'm pg. The only sign I have is being tired and not sleeping well! Obviously, that doesn't help with my temps.
Anyone else battling this? Is my sleep issue making my chart whacky? I stopped marking sleep deprived because I got sick of seeing white dots on the chart!

Well, ff took the CH away.
I'm not surprised.

Sleep problems will mess with your chart. I was having a lot of trouble falling alseep and staying asleep. The other night I was reading a lot about it, because it was starting to affect my life too. I looked into it and found something that seem to be helping.
I started taking magnesium, the one I am taking is called ionic fizz, you mix it with water and it tastes sort of sour. It is supposed to be good to take it ionized, or something. lol. I am also taking a B Complex, not sure if it helps sleep, but it is good for other things.
I also read to drink a glass of milk or have something with triptophan(sp?) in it such as turkey. There are other things, but I can't think of them right now. But, have this about 30 mins before bed. This will help you fall asleep.
If you are like me and having trouble staying alseep eat nut butters, or other types of protein about 30 mins before bed. It is supposed to help you stay asleep. I have been having a half a peanut butter sandwhich (the carbs are supposed to help you fall asleep too) and a glass of milk before bed. Plus, taking the magnesium. So far it seems to have helped. I have been able to go to sleep before 11 a few times this week.

Dont mean to take you ladies back, but now that her chart is messed up due to bad sleeping, how has that affected the chart?
I have been up a lot lately and I am sure that has affected my chart, but not sure how?

If you are not able to get a full 3 hours of sleep, your body doesn't have a chance to get into a fully rested state and go through an full sleep cycle. This will most likely cause an elevated temp.
Now, if you wake up early like I did this morning, and temp when you wake up because there is not 3 hours left before your normal temping time, you will most likely have a lower temp. Your body naturally raises your body temp about .1 every half an hour as you get closer to the time you wake up, this is the body's way of preparing for the day. So I took my temp 3 hours ealy, and my temp was 97.5, ovusoft adjusted it to 97.8. That is why my FF chart and my OS chart don't 'match'. But as you can see if you look at them both, you can still see the apparant beginning of the thermal shift, even on the ubadjusted chart.
So not sleeping well, or waking up can cause problems with interpreting your chart, but often you can still see the overall pattern even if you temps are not precise.

Thanks for the response to both of us.
It's weird. On the nights where I'm waking up all night, my temps are lower. I think my body just wants to have fun with me. Grrr.
Proverbs31Mom, I looked at your chart. I'm new at this but your chart looks as confusing as mine. I hope it pans out for you and you get a clear O date.

Are the nights you are waking up all night the ones with the open circles? If so that super high temp could be from that.
You may also be able to get into deep sleep, but then ar enot sleeping long enough for the cycle to continue and raise your temp up again.
Of course every person is different and sleep deprivation will affect them differently. After you chart for a few months you will know how your body reacts and be able to use it to your advantage.

Yeah it does. It's frustrating, isn't it? I guess we both can feel better that we're not the only ones. (If that helps at all!)

I go to sleep around 11:30. I've been waking up at 1am, 4 or 5am, and then again at 6am (when I've been temping) before getting up at 7:15 for good. I've debated just taking it at 7:15 even if I use the restroom at 5 or 6. I've been temping earlier because I have to go to the bathroom and don't want to affect my temp. But, since I'm not getting 3 solid hours I don't know if it really matters. At least if I temp at 7 I'll be in a predictable pattern rather than taking the temp when I wake up to go to the bathroom

If you wake up at 1 am, and then again at either 4or 5, and it is consistent. Maybe you should take it then. That is the closest you have to 3 hours, or more of sleep. Take it before you get up to go to the bathroom and then go back to sleep until 7:15. You may find that when you get used to it, you won't wake up so often because you won't be worried as much about your temps.
