Hi ladies two questions:

During the day or anyother time of the day or night do you temp just for the heck of it? Are your temps usually higher or lower than what you recorded in the morning?

I wrote before that my thermometer beeps at 45 seconds but sometimes I'll just temp, just to temp and my thermo. goes off in anywhere from 20- 45 seconds. If it's closer to 20 seconds would you disreguard that temp and temp over agin? 20 seconds doesn't seem like a long time to get an accurate reading. (I feel confident with areading if it goes over 45 seconds though). But I do worry that when it comes time to really get my morning temp the thing will beep at 20 seconds then what will I do? P.S. I jus changed the batteries last week.

Hiya. This morning when I temp at 7.30am I got 98.2 and I temp again at 8.30am I got 98.4. But it has also happened the other way round, when I temp earlier I got a higher temperature (I think it was nearing AF time and progesteron level was dropping, I'm guessing).

Not too sure about the 20 sec and 45 sec temp though. What does it say on your thermos manual, do you have to wait till 45 secs to get an accurate temp? If it says so in the manual, then I would think the 20 sec temp is inaccurate but I could be wrong. If the manual say anytime between 20-45 secs then I would think the 20 sec temp is still correct. I think the reason it beeps early is because your body temp was more consistent that day, so it gives the reading in a shorter time. (makes sense?) heheh.

I sometimes temp during the day, I did even before I was charting. My DH makes fun of me for it.

About how long it takes. I am guessing maybe the thermometer was just closer to your body temperature to begin with, so the mechinism isnide it didn't need as much time to make sure your mtouh had returned to the right temp before giving a temp. Sometimes when it is really cold in my room, I will warm my therm up in my hand before I take my temp. When I do this, it beeps ALOT faster since it is almost my body temp already.

Thought I was the only one who did this! Yeah, it totally makes sense about the thermo. beeping earlier than 45 seconds because it's probably steady and maybe the temps have stopped moving all together. Thanks for your help.

I will admit it I temped during the day all of the time this cycle! I noticed they were MUCH higher then usual.

As for the beeping I would say your fine hun, dont discard it.

Me too! I almost always have a thermometer close by. lol

To the original question....... as long as the temp doesn't look WAY out of place, I would keep it.
