So I was waiting to see if my temp stayed up and I'd get my long-awaited CH today.

I got a good night's sleep, woke up, and started to take my temp.

I noticed that it seemed to take longer than usual. I waited for 7 minutes until I gave in and pulled the thermometer out (without hearing it beep).

It DIED! The thing didn't even give me a low battery warning!

So, I'm off to buy a battery and PRAY that it took my temp and held it in the memory.

It's just my luck.

Sorry, I had to vent. (And, note to self... keep an extra battery in hand.)

{{{Hugs}}} Mine beeped too fast the other day, and yesterday again I just wasn't sure of the temp, the beep sounded funny... so this morning I pulled out my spare new thermometer (same brand etc) and my temp seemed more normal.

Thanks.

I guess it takes a lot of battery power to take a temp every day for over a month! I only used my traditional thermometer once a year.

I almost took my temp with the regular thermometer this morning but its battery is dead, too. Plus, it was a different device, so it probably wouldn't be accurate.

Once I get a new battery I hope I can use the memory recall and see if it recorded a temp. I'm dying to know!

Oh no, I hope you were able to save your temp somehow.

I just changed my battery last week since I buying the thermo. in April just incase. I read the instuctions saying that it has 200 hours of testing (I assume the battery does). That sounds like an awful lot to me but spare batteries is a good idea.

Sorry about your thermometer...do you mind if I ask what brand it is, in case I need to get a spare...

That really stinks. I have never had to replace a battery yet. But, the longest I ever used mine was about 2 years, I think that was the longest I kept the one that didn't get lost. I usually lose them ebfore I need a new battery. This one I have now i have been using for about 8 months I think.

I just started using this one this month! I can't believe it died so quickly. We got a new battery tonight, put it in, and got an error message. Then the thing stopped working all together. Needless to say, I lost today's temp. There's nothing I can do about it now. Bummer.

We then went to CVS and told the guy the thermometer broke. He replaced it for free. Luckily I put the old battery back in and kept the new one. So, I have a spare this time.

Proverbs31Mom, (It's a CVS brand thermometer. I found it in the 'family planning' section the store). If I remember you were having sleeping problems? How are you doing?

Let's see what tomorrow brings! I'm heading off to bed for hopefully a good night's sleep and a high temp.

Oh, maybe I am glad I didn't go with a store brand therm. I have a BD brand, I have owned about 10 of them over the last 7 years or so of charting. The only one that ever gave me a problem was the soft tip one, it was sort of rubbery. But, that was not the temrs fault, since my son bit the end and it broke off.....rofl.
