Just curious for when I start TTC.
How long does the pill effect temping and charting?

Typically, I think it takes approx 3 cycles for your cycle to regulate. I've always ovulated the first cycle off of pills without any problems.

My doc said it'd take around 3 months. I didn't get AF for over three months after bcp and the doc then said that some women take up to a year.

BUT, on a more positive note, my friend went off bcp and got pg. the first cycle off.

So I guess it varys widly from woman to woman.

Well I went off it for a month a year ago and i got AF about a week later than I should of if i were still on the pill so I guess thats a good sign?

So do you think there is any point charting for the first month or two of BCPs?

Personally (but I'm not an expert by ANY means), I'd chart. What do you have to lose? The worst that would happen is that you get a messed up chart.

I started charting several months after the bcp and wish I did it sooner. Even if my cycles were screwed up, I would have learned about my body a lot quicker.

So either way, it wouldn't hurt, would it?

I would probably do it just in case you are one of the lucky ones who gets your cycle back right away. It will also give you an idea of what your body is doing.

I chart immediately. I'm obsessive like that though.

I'd cahrt immediately. I chart even on the months my DH isn't here to try with me. It's just a good habit to get into. My friend is coming off of BC in 3 months and using condoms for a few months, but then wants to do NFP, so she is starting temping now to get into the habit so it's easier for her.
