Hi ladies, I posted a question in TTC regarding temps after O, but didn't get an answer. First of all, for the last 2 nights, I have been waking all through the night to use the bathroom, dying of thirst so I needed a drink of water, super hot & sweaty and wake up from throwing the covers off, and my DD has been waking up several times, so it seems like when I finally get back in bed, she wakes up and I'm back up with her. I don't think I've slept a solid 2 hours in a row in 2 nights! I've noticed my a.m. temps have dropped the last 2 days, which is weird b/c I'm really hot at night and even during the day, my temp is running high (in the 98.9-99.4 range). So I was told that getting up throughout the night CAN affect your temps. Here's my question, this morning, I temped at 6:35 a.m. (my normal time to temp), and it was low, but I had only been back asleep for maybe an hour, hour and a half. Well, DH got up with Claire and let me sleep in. I woke up at 9 a.m. and temped just for the heck of it and my temp was 98.79. I didn't record it my chart b/c it was much later than I normally temp. Should I go in and change it? Does it matter? Plus, I'm like Amanda C., I temp all day just for the heck of it to see what happens and all day today, it's been 99.1, 98.9, and 99.4. Is this a good sign?

If I were you, I wouldn't keep the later temp. I have been struggling with this one too. The reason I am not keeping my temp is actually because of sunlight. My bedroom gets super bright in the morning, which influences the temperature of the room as well as the release of seratonin in the brain. I figure that would have a hand in changing the temps. I have heard that altering the temp by a certain increment (I think my brain is already asleep, I can't remember what increment) for every hour later helps, but I'm not sure if that's when you have a solid block of sleep that just goes later or if it applies to this situation as well. I would be inclined to wonder what your normal temp is, it sounds to me more like you have a low-grade fever that manifests more during the night. However, I may be completely wrong, it's been known to happen. Good luck with this one!

I'd put the higher temp in my notes area, but not in my chart. I'd use the first time and check sleep deprived. I wouldn't adjust the temp, because everyone is different. If you do decide to adjust your temp, then make note of the original temp and that you adjusted it in your notes, so if it looks totally off in a few days, you can easily switch it back.

I have an incredibly hard time getting 3 hours of straight sleep most of the time so I know firsthand how much it can mess up your chart and frustrate the living daylights out of you!
