Hi Ladies,

I recently started charting during this cycle with temps starting at CD12. I don't have alot of data and I had thought I O'd that weekend on either CD12, 13 or 14 ...... BUT I have never seen a thermal shift / temperature rise. I have had O pains throughout my cycle, some more subtle than others so I'm not sure I can go by that really.

SO then I was thinking maybe I O'd on CD17 since I was beginning to see temps rise but then after this morning's temp (down again)... I am beginning to wonder if I have O'd yet.

Just to give you some background. I stopped BCP in Feb 07, then had cycles in March & April (DH was deployed March - June) then I didn't have another cycle until this September when my Dr. put me on Provera which worked like a charm. So essentially I didn't have a cycle for May, June, July & August.

When I was on BCP my cycle lengths were usually 30 - 35 but i'm not sure what my TRUE cycle length / Luteal Phase is without BCP.

Is is possible that I have not O'd yet based on the fact that I haven't seen any thermal shift / rise???

Here is my chart for your stalking pleasure - My Chart

I'm really only wondering because my CM is a little watery & I've read about other ladies O'ing as late as CD21 to CD25. Thanks in advance for any input and advice. It is GREATLY appreciated!

It's hard to tell without the first half of your chart but it does look like you may not have ovulated yet.

I suggest you keep BDing and hope for that temp spike!

I'm thinking you haven't Od yet either.

However, I wanted to say and let me know if you have any questions! Hope you get your BFP soon!!!!!

Thanks Girls.... we are keeping up with the BDing even though I have no idea whether I've O'd already or have yet to O later in my cycle.

I just updated my temps for this morning and had another steep drop. It was 96.64.

I still haven't seen anything above 97.3. It would be a pleasant suprise if I actually O later in my cycle. Only time and temping will tell. ;p Thanks for the input.

Question: does O'ing later in cycle effect LP? or chances of a bean stickng if you conceive??

I agree with everyone else, it doesn't look like you've o'd yet.

O'ing late will not affect the length of your luteal phase. Your luteal phase is a constant (within 1-2 days), it's the pre-o phase that can vary.

O'ing late should not affect your ability to conceive or sustain a pregnancy. The cycle that I conceived Ethan, I o'd on cd21. Had a H&H 9 mos and a perfect little boy.

It looks like you haven't O'd YET, but with that huge temp drop this am, you may be O'ing today. We'll see whether your temp goes up tomorrow.
Make sure you BD just in case.

Good Luck!!

I agree that you may not have O'ed yet.

You and I are in a very similar situation. I went off bcp in February, also. My cycles have been so horribly messed up. I think I have had three cycles since then.

Last month was my first month charting and I didn't O until CD33... so you still have time to O.

I hope you get your temp rise soon and do some well-timed BD'ing! Good luck!

Pfft.... 96.50 this morning, CD23 - still no thermal shift to indicate O yet. *sigh* So what happens if you haven't O'd - does it cause AF to come later rather than around her usual expected time??

I am feeling this might be an anovulatory cycle. I just don't know.

Usually if you O later in your cycle you will get AF later, as your Luteal phase does not change. However if you do not O at all, that is another issue.
I noticed your chart is full of circles and boxes. Are you not temping at the exact same time every morning? If not, that could definately affect your temp pattern.

The boxes are for personal notes & comments I've added for that day. ie. one morning I took my temp and it was Celsius so I wrote that down and just did the conversion rather than retake the temperature.

Square Points:
When you have entered a note or if you check something in the Special data section, the graph will display a square instead of a dot. This is useful to check patterns and symptoms not directly related to charting. Note that this display is not enabled by default. It can be enabled on a chart by chart basis by clicking on the Display Settings link below the chart.

As for my times, since I've just started charting and temping, I was first doing my temp when I woke up but now I have the alarm set to wake me up so I can temp when my husband gets up for work. I bought a little alarm clock for my own time but it just won't wake me up. LOL! so I'm going by his alarm clock now which goes off at 7am. But I had to work my way back towards that time since I really don't do well when waking up so early, even if just for a few minutes to temp. Oddly enough, I had originally planned to take my temps at 8am but I woke up at 7am (on my own, because I needed to go to the restroom) so my understanding was to temp before getting up and moving at all so I took it at that time.

2 of the open circles are 8am & 2 are 7am.

Here is a question, lets say I wake up having to go to the bathroom at 6am... this rarely happens. Do I temp at 6am -OR- do I go to the restroom then come back to bed and try to sleep til 7 to temp at that time??

What's more important... No movement or The time you temp (if within an hour)???

Take the temp at 6:00am BEFORE you get out of bed if that happens. Both are important.

Thanks for answering all of my questions! I know I've had so many. I just got my new alarm clock set up and it has 2 alarms on it. Also, I went into the display settings for my chart and turned off the squares for comments & special notes since it was optional. I just unchecked the box which set that for my chart.

I pretty much make sure I have no movement before I temp. I take it immediately when i wak up. Once other question....

I saw on FF they have a "Temperature Corrector" ...does anyone ever even use that?? If someone takes their temp daily at 7am and wakes up at 8am due to oversleeping... Would they ever use this or just keep the 8am temp. It says it's not very accurate so I can't imagine anyone wanting to use it.
