Question... I have been charting for 4 months. The first months I charted was only by CM and using OPKs. This past month I started Temping. On Sunday, I had a major temperature drop during my luteal phase cd 34. This has been my longest cycle yet. I ovulated on cd25 according to Fertility Friend. After cd34, my temp went right back up the next morning (cd35) at about 10 am on cd35, I got my period. That was yesterday. This morning, my temp went up again. I was not expecting this at all. I thought that my temp would keep going down. Do you think something is wrong with me? I am super confused. Any opinions would be appreciated. From my charting, I think that I have a luteal phase defect. My longest has been 9 days. I am going to the doctor this morning with all my info.

do you have a chart we can see? If your LP is consistently under 10 days then you need to talk to your doctor because there could be a problem.

Hi! Thanks for responding. I definitely think there is a problem with my luteal phase. I am just worried about the doctor believing me, because I only have one month of temps. I only have my CM to go by the other months. Here is my chart. I thought temps started to drop during AF, not go up. Hopefully there isn't something wrong with me besides Luteal Phase Defect.

How light is your bleeding? Does your period normally start with two days of light? Is it possible that you are just spotting? At 9 DPO it could be IB, not a period. I'd say give it one more cycle, and make sure to record OPK's and everything this cycle, so that your doctor has as much info as possible.

Sometimes my temp would do that too. Go up during AF and then drop to pre-O temps closer to the end of AF. I don't think that is something to really worry about.

My temps do that too, with going up during AF, not sure why, but I'm not worried about it.

I do agree with Jennifer about your LP being under 10 days consistently. Let us know what the dr says. If your dr doesn't believe you or gives you a hard time, then I would find another dr. You definitely don't want a dr that you are not comfortable with during a pregnancy and hey, we pay them, so I'm a strong believer in taking control of your own healthcare. Good luck and keep us updated!

Thanks everyone for responding!!! The doctor I met with today is my endocrinologist. She is fabulous and had taken care of me since I had thyroid cancer at age 15. She is running a TON of tests to see what my problem could be since a lot of them could be related to my meds. She also let it be known that she needs to be the 2nd person to know when I find out that I am pregnant. I like Doctors who take control. She listened to all my symptoms and I am having all kinds of tests. Everyone has been telling me that I am paranoid or I am a hypochondriac and nothing is wrong. It was so nice for someone to verify that yes, something is wrong, but she is going to figure out what. Have any of you heard of Cushings' disease? She is running some tests for that. I am really worried still, but glad she is running tests.

It's very important when you have other medical conditions going on around TTC or being pregnant that you keep your "other" doctors in the loop--we try to stress that importance at my office. Sounds like you have a good endocrinologist that knows what she's doing!

Good luck to you! If you want some information on Cushing's disease, I would do a Google search for it. Did she say anything to you about it? Or just say she's running a series of tests?
