It's best to start either during af, or right after af. Often times, women still have elevated temps during af, that drop down after she leaves, so it's not that big of a deal if you don't temp the first few days of your cycle.

I use to start right after AF....because it gave me a nice break while I was on AF.

Good luck and I hope that it doesn't take long for you to get your BFP!!!

Just start temping whenever you get your thermometer! Even if you miss a few days this cycle it's a good way to get in the habit and you can still possibly determine ovulation (depending on how many days you miss!)

First day of your period is best. That way you can chart a full cycle. I started in the muddle of my cycle the first time and it wasn't very helpful but the following month was because I charted the full month. from the start of my cycle until the start of the next one.
