Usually, but I did have a fallback rise my first cycle trying, but based on my cm, cp, and o pains, it was definitely a fallback rise. TCOYF and FF both agreed.

In general though, I do go by the 3/6. I hate how liberal FF is about handing out ch, it drives me nutty.

The three over six rule means that you should see three temps that are higher than the previous six temperatures in order to confirm ovulation.
Here is a link on FF about it.
Fertility Awareness Method

I used to follow this rule strictly and always thought FF was screwy with how they mark their charts. I am starting to get a little more open-minded with ff and kind of like the way they mark their charts now. I have watched a lot of girls on TTC have charts that would have been called annovulatory based on the three over six rule but yet when they had their progesterone drawn, they actually did ovulate. I think the biggest thing to look for is a temp shift. If you can see one then you probably o'd. I don't know that even the best experts would agree on o dates so I try not to split hairs on things. My chart, I think FF has marked correctly even thought it doesn't follow the three over six rule. But I am going to do an experiment and see when I test positive (well if I test positive that is! LOL). If I don't test positive when I think I should, I am going to consider that my o date was off and go by the three over six rule and change my o date.

Yeah, Patty, based on your temps alone, I'd have to say that cd17 looks more accurate. Were you charting cm at all?

Here is the thing, I really never noticed any changes in cm with the exception of day 10. I don't know. Maybe we have been bding so much that I am overlooking things. I didn't mark it because I was honestly not sure what kind of cm I was having. I know why you are thinking day 17, I won't be suprised if that is the day but I really think it was day 14, even though the pattern doesn't follow the rules. I am just really curious about what happens. Either way I think I timed things okay. Maybe not perfectly but I think I have a good shot at being pregnant this month.

GL! I do have a tendency to believe that we can often read our own bodies better than a chart necessarily does. When I had my fallback rise, I KNEW for certain that I had o'd even though my temps really didn't confirm it for several more days. I hope you get your bfp this month!
