So I've decided to start charting! I finished off my BCP pack and should have my AF this week. When should I technically start my Day 1? The reason I ask is because I usually don't get AF until the late afternoon either Mon. and Tues.... would I just chart the next day? Or leave the first day temp. blank?

Your first day of flow would be CD 1, but you don't have to start temping right on day 1, if you don't want to.

You normally would take your temp the 1st day of AF. Cycle day 1 is considered the 1st day of your AF. Just take your temp when possible that day, then the following days after, take your temps at the same time. The 1st temperature don't really matter much anyway.

I started on the first day that I had any flow. I am on the first day of my second cycle of charting right now, so let me know if I can help you with anything. I'm figuring it out all too! Are you using a program such as Ovusoft or FF? Or are you just doing the paper charts?? Good luck!

CD 1 is the first day of full flow, but unless you have extremely short cycles it is not essential that you temp during AF. I started like a day before I knew my period would end the first cycle I temped.

I think at first I will just do paper charts so I can fully get the concept of what I'm doing. Probaby FF later.
