Okay so I am kind of new to this charting thing, but I love how much I have learned about myself through it.

I have had irregular cycles (about once every six months was pretty typical) and so when I was 16, the gyn put me on the pill to regulate it. I was on the pill for about four years and went off the beggining of this past summer.

I have only had one actual cycle that was 47 days long but I charted it and was able to at least see that I am ovulating.

This cycle I am in right now is going on day 75...I think I just ovulated. My problem is, during the first like 60 days or so my temps where all over the board and then they leveled off. Now my temps are going higher and looking like I just ovulated but becuase they are still low compared to my erractic previous temps I am wondering what's going on?

I am not as experianced as a lot of you so I am really looking for somone to help me out and let me know what is going on.

Also, I spotted right in the middle of when I would be ovulating....it was only a tiny tiny bit of light pink but I have never had this happen before in all my life. So what is that?

My cycles are exactly like that and I was finally diagnosed with PCOS. I've gone 3-6 months between periods ever since I hit puberty and first got my period. There's hope though, even though my ovulations are so infrequent...as long as we time everything right, we've had no trouble conceiving! We've also been able to use charting to avoid pregnancy when we needed to, in spite of the irregularity.

Spotting with mucus is highly fertile. It's called breakthrough bleeding and it occurs due to rising levels of estrogen. It's totally normal, even if you've never had it before.

I can't see your chart though, you may have to adjust your Homepage setup at Fertility Friend to make the chart appear.

OKAY thanks! I fixed it so you can see it now. I am so glad to hear you have had no trouble conceiving, that is a fear of mine. I have a obgyn apt in early november to discuss this with a new doctor. Everyone keeps telling me there is nothing wrong and nothing I can do...no one has even bothered to do any tests since like 5 years ago when I was still in high school! Anyways...doctors getting on my nerves...

So if I had sex 36 hours before that spotting there is a chance I could be pregnant? ( )

There probably is something wrong, but PCOS can be difficult to diagnose if you don't have a doctor who is really pro-active about getting to the bottom of things. AND, there is a lot you can do about it! There are lots of things you can do nutritionally to start, then medication options, and even surgical options to manage PCOS.

As for pregnancy, there's a small chance. Sperm can live up to 5 days if cervical mucus is present, but as you don't quite have a thermal shift yet to confirm ovulation...I think ovulation may have happened 5-6 days later. We do have a baby conceived as a result of 5 day sperm life, but our advanced fertility doesn't necessary reflect the norm for *most* couples. There's a shot, a slim shot.

I'm sorry, I'm sure this is so frustrating to you. I totally agree with Shawna though, it sounds like PCOS. You really need to find a doctor who will be willing to run a number of tests on you and treat you for it, if that's what it is.

Good luck to you hon!
