This is my first month charting off of BCP.

Is it normal to go from spotting with your period to sticky CF the next? I thought most women have a few dry days first. Does this mean I could have a shorter cycle than most? I know I may be asking too early in the game but I'm very curious.

My chart

First of all, every woman is different and every cycle is different. And coming off BCP will make things extra wacko....so try to drop ALL assumptions about what your chart *should* look like! You will learn to identify your own unique patterns of fertility and infertility. Do you have an instructor to walk you through that transition? Post-pill charting can be a bit confusing, but having proper training can reduce the confusion substantially!

Some women have infertile discharge all the time and it can take many forms - sticky, creamy, etc. This is especially true post-Pill, because the Pill works to shrivel up the parts of your cervix where good qualify fertile CM is produced, thus increasing the production of thicker, less fertile mucus. It can take time for your cervix to heal again, and the result is often constant discharge. But for other women, sticky mucus heralds the beginning of their fertile window as well - and yes, it can start right as menstruation ends or even in the middle of it (particularly with women who experience very short cycles). It takes three full cycles of charting in order to determine what is actually fertile *for you* and what isn't, if you are one of those women who has infertile discharge. Until then, you have to consider any and all types of mucus potentially fertile.

Does that clarify a bit?

Yes it does actually Thank you.

And no, I don't have an instructor. It's just me and my TCOYF book.

Well, TCOYF is great place to start.

Everyone is different when coming off of BCP. Hope you have an easy transition and start Oing right away! Good luck!
