So, I saw my new GYN today and I love the man. He LISTENED to me, and didn't doubt me. He explained all the options and laid out a care plan that we both feel will work for me. If AF doesn't show soon(I'm on CD 18ish...)I will jump start my period with provera and then I am starting on clomid next cycle. If I don't ovulate after one cycle on 50 mg, we'll move on to 100 mg the next cycle and so on. I'm excited to get started!
thanks ladies! this is the first GYN I have EVER had who has truly listened to me. He doesn't like charting, but he says if it works for me, then go for it and he will trust me! He's really being proactive about this too. The other GYN wanted me to wait until January 2009 to even consider clomid!
I just finished my first round of Clomid (50mg) after taking provera so we're in a very similar boat.
My doctor actually encouraged me to chart and was very pleased that I was doing so. It's weird how that varies from doctor to doctor. Did your last one not believe in it or something?
Good luck - I hope the wait isn't too bad. I'm still waiting to O off this Clomid and the wait's killing me!!!!!
my last doctor told me that there was no reason for them to even consider putting me on clomid or met because I do still cycle on my own about every 6-7 weeks...but every time it has gotten more like spotting, I've been on a strict diet since July and have only losty a few lbs(thanks a lot PCOS!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr)and numerous other things added up.
Well I'm really glad that this doctor is helping you. I was also ovulating but not until like CD45ish and he agreed that it was too long and that I was probably having anovulatory cycles (which I didn't even realize).
I thought I read somewhere that when you O late that the egg isn't as good because it was in the process longer? I wish I knew where I read that. But, I kept thinking that maybe it was a reason why I wasn't getting pg. I'll have to try and find that article.
