Hello everyone,

I found out that I was pregnant about 10 days ago. I had a miscarriage in August of this year, so the news was quite welcome. I am extremely nervous this time around.

Anyway, so I have been charting my cycles since September. My last chart started the day my period started, on 10/22. Well, from 10/22 to 11/30, i had much lower temps than usual, and i dropped egg whites three different times. It was obvious that my body was trying to ovulate, but nothing was happening.

Hubby and I had unprotected sex on 11/23 and 11/24. On 11/25 I dropped egg whites again. I took my temp for 4 days after that (ranging from 97.0 to 97.3...again, unusually low, like it had been all month), and nothing...no ovulation. So, then i just quit taking my temps.

On Dec 4th (tuesday), i had a negative pregnancy test. The next two days i spotted some tiny bits of brownish blood. It wasn't even on my panties, it was really a small amount...but here I thought I was getting my period. And...nothing. On December 9th (sunday) i took another pregnancy test. And it was very positive (as were the next 3 pregnancy tests i took...LOL).

So now, all the due date calculators are telling me that, based on even the longest cycle possible of "45 days", I conceived like in mid November. I know i had not ovulated during this time, so that is just not possible. The only thing that I can come up with, is that I must have had some pretty awesome eggwhites and my husband must have given me some supersperm, cause that is a long time between unprotected sex and ovulation.

Ive been taking my morning temps after i found out i was pregnant, just to make sure that it wasnt a defective thermometer...and well, now i'm reading between 98.3 and 98.6...an obvious change...i figured if the thermometer had not been working, it would still be giving me low temps.

Anyway, the only thing that I can kinda go by is when i "think" i ovulated, and correlate that with the negative and then positive pregnancy tests. Anyone have any idea of what the heck could have happened here and when I might actually be due? Thanks to this nutty cycle, i dont actually know how far along i am. If my charting is right, then i'm about 3 weeks along (in fetal age), but i'm finding out that the rest of the world looks not at fetal age, but at gestational age, which makes me like, 5 weeks along.

I'd say you probably O'd as soon as you quit taking your temps. Congrats!

I'd try not to stress out too much about it. It doesn't really matter when you Od or when your last period was. When you have your first doctor's appt and ultrasound, they will date the pregnancy according to the size of the baby. That's how we determine age in our office. The u/s is king!
