Hi ladies!

I am new to charting and I am a bit unclear on a couple of things. I tried to temp last cycle and I thought I was temping wrong so I stopped. This cycle (on CD 4 now) I just started again. I have a 5 month old that still isn't sleeping nights, and I was told that I need about 3 hours of sleep to temp properly. I am trying to figure that piece out with her night time feeds.

So.... my question is what about a lot of waking during the night, be it from nightmares, restless sleep, etc. Can that throw off your temps? I am having trouble sleeping even when Lauryn doesn't get up for feeds so I am just concerned my temps are going to off because of it.

Oh and do most of you use digitals or the mercury filled?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Most of us use digital basal thermometers with memory.

If your sleep is consistently inconsistent, you may still be able to see a thermal shift. I'd suggest charting other fertility signs to see if they agree with your temps

It is okay, as long as you don't physically get out of bed and do any activities. I used the digital bbt thermoter. Was much easier.

I agree. The digital themometers make life much easier--if you forget your temp, just turn it on later, and it saves it!

Good luck with charting this go round--hope you get to see a good pattern!
