Hi All,

I started tracking my fertility for this cycle - I started late so have not been tracking since day1. My day1 was 12/11/07. Per all websites, my ovulation date was 12/25/07. I bought an ANSWER's ovulation predictor kit and have been tracking my fertility since 12/24. But even today morning (12/26) it shows that I am not ovulating. We had intercourse last on days 8, 9 & 11 of my cycle. What are the chances of me being pregnant? As per the ANSWER kit, one of the things that could affect the accuracy of prediction is pregnancy. I have a fairly regular cycle. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.

OPKs can turn positive up to 48 hours before you are going to O (once you get a positive test, you will usually O in the next 12 to 48 hours) so if your websites are telling you that you O'd on 12/25 but you didn't use an OPK until 12/24, you may have missed your LH surge on the OPK (meaning it wouldn't show up as positive). It may have been positive on 12/23 but you wouldn't know because you didn't use the test then. When you are using OPKs, it is a good idea to start using them several days before you expect to O so you don't miss your surge. For example, if you O on CD 14, start using them on CD 10 or 11.

If you did BD on CD11 and then O'd on CD14, there is a chance you could be pregnant but you'd have a better chance if you had BD closer to O (sperm can live for up to 5 days but usually last about 3 days and the egg lives for 24 hours after you O).

I hope that helps a little. Good luck!

the PP explained it well! Do you normally have a 28 day cycle? or is it normally longer? that will affect your ovulation too. the book "Taking charge of your fertility " explains it well.

"Taking Charge of Your Fertility" has been my go-to book with charting. I highly recommend it!

Thanks all for the book reco. A special thanks to Dizzy Miss Lizzy for explaining the process so well. It never crossed my mind that I may have already O'ed. Although I am disappointed that I missed it this month, I will be more careful next month.
