Hi there I don't post much here but I am confused and have a question if someone would like to help. FF gives me CHs on CD 18 but I had no fertile signs that day. All my fertile signs were on CD 17...so I am curious which do you think. I asked the experts at FF why FF wanted to give me CHs on CD18 and this is what they said:

Signs such as the cm is great for suggesting when you might be in a fertile phase, but is not a way to pinpoint the O date. It suggests you're possibly near O but also suggests fertility for a couple days out. While fertile cm usually goes away quickly after O, it can linger past or stop short (some do not even see fertile cm). It is due to estrogen (as is the cervical position) which peaks before ovulation but isn't directly responsible for the release of the egg. The positive OPK lets you know you have a surge in the luteinizing hormone which does lead to ovulation, but that still only gives us a window of time in which O might occur. You may O the day of a positive and up to 2 days later. The temps are key in helping us pinpoint ovulation because once the egg is released our body produces progesterone in increased amounts and causes temps to rise to a higher range. The last day of temps in the lower range is considered ovulation day.

The positive you have suggests you could O as late as day 18 and the last temp that we see in the lower range before the higher range appears is cd18. That appears to be the most likely date for O considering all signs and temps together.

THANK YOU

I think FF is right, given the CM dryup and temp shift.

BTW, we are total cycle buddies! Good luck!
