I'm starting my 2nd cycle of charting and I love it! I always temp at 4:30am. In March I'll be moving back to night shift. I won't be able to temp at the same time everyday. On my days off I'd probably temp at 7am, and when I'm working I'd probably temp around 2pm (I'm usually in bed around 9-10ish). But I don't have a M-F schedule. I work 7 shifts every 2 weeks and there is no pattern to when i work or when I'm off. Do you think that would make my temps crazy with no clear pattern?

I'm not charting to TTC, just become more aware of my cycles. I don't want to confuse myself into thinking something is wrong.

Any thoughts?

hmm..that will be a little harder. I looked it up in TCOYF to see what they say, and basically it is may be harder to see a clear thermal shift so you need to use other fertility signs to determine ovulation(cervical position and mucous). Make sure to get at least 3 hours sleep before temping and you may be able to see it. It all just depends. Good luck!

Thanks Jen! Maybe I'll try it for the first month. If it's crazy than I'll just wait until I go back to days.

Night shifts are oh so much fun! LOL!

I take it work at a hospital or nursing home? Just curious. I work in an OB/GYN office, but my hubby does rotating shifts--2 week of days, 2 weeks of nights--and they're 12 hour shifts. Use to make TTC even more fun.

Good luck!
