Hey guys, I am wondering what's up with my chart. I kept an informal one last month (basically just tracking on a calendar with OPKs and LMP) and finally got + OPKs 2 days in a row. I didn't temp then so no way to confirm that ovulation happened, which is waht concerns me since I'm coming off an IUD and then BCP.

My OPK yesterday was almost positive...like, 95% there. I forgot to bring them with me to work today so I'll have to check when I get home. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what my temps are saying since I've had 2 huge jumps. CM has gotten really thin and watery over the last few days but no stretchiness yet like I noticed last month.

What am I really looking for to determine ovulation since I've heard that FF can be off sometimes? And do you think I've o'd already, or am I trying to now? Any comments are appreciated.

The thin watery mucus is a sign that your estrogen levels are rising, your body is likely thinking about ovulation - so you have definitely entered your fertile phase! A single temp jump doesn't mean anything, it's the overall pattern than matters. After ovulation your temperatures will rise, and you can confirm ovulation only after you see 3 temps which are higher than the previous 6 temps.

If you are using CM to confirm ovulation, then you need to see a pattern where:

1. The CM develops and changes over a matter of days, becoming wetter
2. The CM becomes slippery
3. The CM dries up drastically from one day to the next

If all 3 things happen in that order, you can confirm ovulation with CM. If only 1 or 2 of those things happens, then you can't confirm ovulation. The last day of slippery mucus is your fertility Peak. Ovulation usually happens on Peak day, or up to 2 days after the mucus disappears.

Thank you all! This is day #4 of the exact same temperature. So frustrating because I was almost positive I would O by this weekend, but I'm not getting any + OPKs or even a single temperature increase. My CM dried up a lot today though so we will see. I'm praying that I'm O'ing later (like, today or tomorrow) rather than earlier because I would already be out for the month due to bad BD timing.

I finally had a change today - a drop of .4! I'm crossing my fingers that it's an ovulation dip. CP is still high and soft so I'm hanging on to the positive signs.

However...I'm continuing to get negative OPKs and my CM is not nearly as abundant or watery as it had been over the last few days. I haven't had EWCM this month. For lack of a better description my CM is still a really thin consistency (more like water and not egg white), but there's a lot less of it than earlier. I'm starting to think that I'm either in for a long cycle this month or that my body might not kick into gear and ovulate this cycle. Stupid birth control.....
