So, I normally O somewhere between CD17 to CD19, although last month it was CD20. This month has been so wacky. I've been having EWCM for weeks, and I thought I O'd 2 other times, and didn't. I also haven't gotten a + opk, and I've taken 15 of them this month! I really thought CD 23 was it because my temp rise was higher, but my temp today seems inconclusive. The problem is that I am supposed to take Prometrium after the temp rise. I took my first pill last night, and now I think I may have jumped the gun. I don't know if I should assume I O'd, and take it again tonight, or hold off until tomorrow's temps. Does anyone know if it will keep me from Oing if I haven't already? Ayeyiyi! I had an HSG done this month, and I am also doing accupuncuture. I was hoping that these things would help me, not keep me from Oing. I have no idea what my body is doing. Someone please help before I go nuts, lol!

Shoot, that's a tough call. The Prometrium can prevent ovulation if you haven't already, yes - and it can also cause your temps to rise, so today's temp wouldn't be considered a true reflection of whether you ovulated yet or not. Bummer! I don't know what to tell you, you may want to give you doctor a quick call and explain what happened. He may want you to stop the Prometrium for a few days just to see where your non-medicated temps are, but don't do that without his recommendation!

with Shawna. Prometrium can delay or prevent ovulation, so I would definitely call your doctor.
Hope you already Od and you're on your way to a BFP! Good luck!

Thanks ladies! I was not able to get a hold of the dr. since it's the weekend, so I decided not to take the prometrium until I was more sure that I O'd. I got dotted CH's today which doesn't totally help me figure it out, but it was still elevated a bit without meds, so I think I may take the Prometrium tonight. I hope this cycle isn't totally screwed up. I was really hoping to make the most of it since I had the HSG done. Thanks for your advice! If I didn't O for some reason, and I kept taking the prometrium would I still get AF?

You'll get AF after you stop the Prometrium. It's the sharp drop in hormones that makes AF arrive, so definitely take a test before you stop taking it or it can cause a miscarriage.. If you are pregnant your doctor may want you to continue taking it to support the pregnancy. Usually it's ordered to be taken for around 10 days to bring on AF. How did your doctor tell you to take it? For a set # of days after ovulation and then test to determine whether you should stop or continue it?

You know what, he never told me to stop taking it. All he said was start taking it after I see a temp rise - nothing about testing or stopping it. I guess we will see what happens, and I will call him to see when I should stop.
