I decided to start a new journal because it has been over a year since I have started my other journal and there has been a lot of bumps in the road but I think that this year is going to be my year. So I will start from the beginning to catch up. In April I turned 23 and my SO will turn 27 this August. He has a son from a previous marriage. I work as a nurse in a long term care facility and he works for an advertising agency. I just graduated from nursing school this past December which put a hold on our TTC for a while because it was a lot of hard work but now I am finished and I am working and we are ready to start our journey once again, but this time I have a good feeling about this. I have been to many Dr.s of all kinds, infertility specialists and regular OB/GYN's and right now I am stuck. I have never had a normal cycle since highschool. I was put on birthcontrol to help regulate my cycles (which it did) and last Feb. I went off of them trying to get pregnant with no luck thus far. I bought a clearblue fertility monitor, I was trying to temp but it is too complicated to remember to take it everyday before you wake up. I have had numerous tests done with no anwser as to why I don't get my period every month. My last perido was in April, making today CD 55. At my last DR. visit I was told that if I lost weight I would get my period regularly. Well 10lbs are gone and still no period. I just bought ovulation sticks to use while I await my period and so far I have not ovulated. I am not pregnant I already have taken numerous pregnancy tests with all of them being negative. So now I feel like I am back to the beginning with just having all the tests out of the way all coming back normal but I still dont ovulate. So from this entry on I will bring you on my journey and my SO's journey of trying to conceive our first miracle. I hoping to get my period on my own but if it doesnt come I will have to go to another dr. that cares enough to help me. So I will keep you posted! Wish me LUCK![/font]

Good luck! Even if you're regular like me, it is still really hard to get pregnant. It will happen for you eventually, it's just a matter of time!

Well just a little update today. Normally I use my clearblue fertility monitor to help me pinpoint when it is that I am ovulating but because my cycles are very irregular I can't always use the monitor up until my period comes because there is a window of days that it allows you to test to see if your ovulating. So I went and bought the ones were you have to match the control line with the test line and those things are such a headache. Yesterday morning when I woke up I tested to see if I was ovulating and from the color of the lines according to the stick I had an LH surge. And I had mild cramping no big deal. So a few hours later I tested again because I wanted to be sure that it was correct and both of them said I had an LH surge. So I went out and bought the clearblue digital ovulation kit to make things more simple but they are kind of expensive for only getting 7 tests. So I took one of those later that afternoon and it said no LH surge so I was kind of upset because I dont know why one is saying I am and the other is not. So this morning when I woke up I tested again and it said no LH surge on the digital monitor. I am going to test one more time with the other sticks as well today and maybe again with the clearblue one because one is saying I have a surge and the other is saying no. Also yesterday I had cramping and today I have more cramping so I am either ovulating or I am going to get my period. At this point I am not sure which one. But I will take either althought obviously I would like it to be that I am ovulating. Its very frustrating I wish I could use the clearblue fertility monitor to test whenever i wanted to. I am not to sure but I think I might have ovulated last week when I wrote because at the time that the ovulation tests said I ovulated I felt some cramping for a couple days and I had bbs and I still have that although the cramping went away. So now I am just waiting to see if my period will show up next week or not. I am not sure if I will test or not because I hate getting BFN. I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. If I dont get my period and I get a BFN I am going to see a new DR.

So I am still waiting for my period to show up. So far I really haven't had any signs of it showing up but sometimes I don't. I did feel so cramping today and yesterday so I thought maybe it would come sometime this week. Obviously I hope that it doesn't show up at all and that I am pregnant but I am not even sure if I ovulated or not because of the tests. I am on cycle day 70, this is just too much. How can you possibly try to concieve like this. I am getting frustrated because if I do end up getting my period this month is it going to take another 70 days to get another. I think that I am going to make an appointment to see another gyn that my friend referred me to. I really was hoping I would get my period so I can test to see when I ovulate and do it naturally but I just don't think that is going to happen unless I want to wait and wait and wait. I guess for now I am going to wait to see what happens. At this point it is no longer a big rush I just wish I could ovulate every 30 days.

I am still waiting for AF to show but it hasn't yesterday would of been 14 days after I thought I ovulated but apparently I didn't ovulate unless of course if I am pregnant which I don't think I am but I would really like to be. I still have some symptoms of AF showing up such as bbs and cramping but who knows. I was going to test yesterday just to be sure but I decided not to because I didn't want to be disappointed but I think I am going to test today so I can make the appointment with my new OB/GYN because without ovulation I dont stand a chance at getting pregnant and I am over 70 days since my last cycle which is bad. I guess we will have to wait and see unless I test.

Well AF still hasnt showed up and now my symptoms are pretty much gone. I also tested and I got a BFN which I figured. I don't know what's going on anymore its very frustrating. I am on cycle day 77 and still nothing. Normally I wouldnt complain because I don't mind not getting AF every month but it makes it really difficult to try and concieve when your not ovulating. Somehow I just don't think this is going to happen on its own like I had hoped it would. I am not sure if I should go with a new doctor or go back to the infertility doctor I was seeing a year ago and do the SA and see what happens.

Well AF still has not shown up. I was so certain that I had ovulated by now. I had all the symptoms. BBS, Cramps, breaking out, tired, mood swings and very bloated. And when I was using my clearblue fertility monitor thrusday and it said high fertility. So I tested not with the clearblue fertility monitor(because it wouldnt allow me) but with clearblue digital ovulation test on friday and saturday and it didnt show that I was ovulating. I really don't know. All of my symptoms are pretty much gone. I tested before and got a BFN. Who knows what is going on but it is very frustrating.

So I think AF is going to be showing up soon. I started spotting a very small amount and I have been having a pain on the left side by my ovary. I am a little disappointed because I thought maybe we had timed things correctly. But I was wayy wayy off with my ovulation date if AF does show up this week. Sometimes I wonder why I am wasteing so much money on these opk tests when they are wrong. One of the test said I ovulated 3 weeks or more ago and the other one said I was going to ovulate but then never showed that I ovulated. I don't know it is driving me crazy all this stuff. Well I will keep you posted as to what happens. Oh yea and today is cycle day 85

It has been a little while since I made an entry but there isn't too much to update. AF still has not shown my last one was in April. So that means I never did actually ovulate like I thought I did. I need to make an appointment with a DR. because I am so bloated and I don't think AF is showing up soon. I was going to wait until I got my own insurance but I probably won't get that until the ending of July or beginning of August and I am really tired of waiting that long. But we will see what happens but so far nothing at all!

I am still waiting on AF who still has yet to show. Luckily I am not holding my breath on this wait. For the past week I have been spotting on and off, so I assumed AF would have showed by now but I am still just spotting. Maybe this is going to be AF for this month. I have still been trying to find a OB-GYN in my area because my last one did not want to help me. I did find a couple good Infertility Clinics if need be but I figured I would start with a regular OB-GYN to see what happens. I am going to try and start working out again because that seemed to help in April or maybe it was just a random thing but it doesn't hurt to try. I also bought these over the counter vitamins called vitex to see if that helps at all. That is really all there is to update for now.

So after a week of on and off spotting I decided that it was definetly time to see a doctor for some help. So I found a new doctor located 10 min from work and made an appointment for next wednesday. I hope I have better luck with this doctor than the last one. So I will update more after my appointment or if something happens until then.

I had my doctor visit on Wednesday I was a little nervous because it was a new doctor and I was afraid I would have to go through what I went through with the last doctor, but to my relief he was great and very helpful. He told me that more than likely I have PCOS, which in my many years of irregular cycles and inferitlity problems not one doctor had even mentioned this before. I had researched PCOS a few months ago and after reading the symptoms I felt that it was something that I could possibly have so when he told me that I was relieved to know why I wasnt getting a cycle. He seems like he is really going to help us as much as possible and if things need to be more aggressive he would refer us to an infertility specialist. So for now we start at the beginning and he wants me to get more blood work taken with some labs I had never had drawn before which is good, as well as he wants SO to get a semen analysis done, which I expected because the last doctor had suggested it as well. So hopefully by the end of next week I can have both the bloodwork and the SA complete. After I get that taken care of and he gets the results I have to schedule another appointment with him. Luckily he is only 5 min from work since I have such a crazy schedule! So I will update more after the bloodwork and SA are complete.

Today I went for my bloodwork. I hate getting blood taken but it had to be done. I hoping we can do the SA on saturday. All we have to do is drop it off. It's not going to be covered by insurance so it is something we have to pay for out of pocket, but its worth it so we know where we stand. Once we rule out that it isnt the sperm or semen we can narrow it down to what medication I need to take. I am really hoping that our journey will be a short one with PCOS. But I will update more when I go back to the dr's. And I did finally end up getting my period which is a good thing so I am going to use my clearblue fertility monitor to see if I can ovulate on my own. Maybe it won't be 3 months this time.

So just a little update not much of one really. So I finally had time to get the SA done, except when I arrived to the lab place they informed me that the company no longer performs that test. I was so upset not just because we had finally found the time to do it but because when I was there getting my bloodwork done and picked up the sterile cup the lady never told me that. So now I have to call the doctor back tomorrow and see what he says I hope he just decides to start a treatment plan while we wait to get the SA done somewhere else. I also have no idea if I am ovulating or if I am going to because my clearblue fertility monitor dropped off my behind the toliet rack into the toliet and no longer works so now I have to purchase another one. That is it for now I will update more later.

Wow I did not realize that it had been a month since I had written an update. I have just been really busy. I started going back to school part time on sept. 3rd, I am taking 2 classes as well as working full-time. I also recently went to Trinidad with my SO. That is where he was born. I got to meet his father and one of his brother's that live in Trinidad. The weather was beautiful and I can not wait to go back. I havent gotten AF since July, and all my tests are BFN.

I finally went back to my ob/gyn on monday and my bloodwork was a little off my testrone level was high and my FSH and LH levels are flip flopped so he gave me a referal to go to an Infertility Clinic. I called one of them and made an appointment for the 29th of October but I am going to call another clinic tomorrow and if I can get in sooner I will but if not I guess I will have to wait until the 29th. When you have been waiting for over a year it makes 3 weeks seem like it is such a long way a way. I just want to get going with the treatment it seems like I have been waiting forever. My cousin just had her second child which was a girl and my sister in law just found out last week she is pregnant with her second child as well and it only took her 1 month. I want my BFP soon!

I read your journal and I hope that with this new doctor and possible diagnosis they can start getting the ball rolling. What really gets me is the many many doctors you have to go through until you find one that cares enough to do their job. I honestly think all doctors are just out to make sure you aren't gonna die within the next 24 hours, and if you aren't, they say its a headache or bloating and just send you home. I am glad that it sounds like you found someone that is willing to work with you and refer you to a specialist if it is more than his field of knowledge. The ones that admit they can't solve everything and ask other doctors for help are the best kind. Even with having regular 27 day cycles, my husband and I have been TTC for 17 months now. I just started temping to see if I even ovulate. I was on the pill since such a young age, this first 18 months is really the first time my body has flown solo without the pill. I hope all the best to you, you seem so patient and deserving and I know after you get your BFP you will make the best mommy. Keep trying, dont give up.

I made an appointment for the IF specialist for October 24. I am hoping everything goes well and I have good news. I also got AF yesterday so I missed the egg again.
