Hey everyone... ok here goes. My name is Mel and I'm 19 and my partner is 23. We are engaged and decided to start a family. I stopped taking to pill about 6 weeks ago and had withdrawal bleeding 4 days after, I brought ovulation test sticks and tried one out about 2 weeks ago and got a 2 line very clear positive result so we started trying. Now AF arrived on the 28/8/08. What does that mean? did I ovulate and didn't fall pregnant? I have read it can take a while to fall pregnant after stopping the pill, exactly how long? I was on it for 4 years. I also got some baby names picked out.

I was in the same situation, it depends on the person. You can get pregnant right away or have to wait the 3 months+ indicated before trying.

I hope I don't have to wait the 3 months. No one in my family had problems coming off the pill and conceiving so I hope that is the case for me. Well AF finished yesterday which is good because now we can start trying also AF was right on time and finished on time, just like I was on the pill so I guess that is good
Fingers crossed for a baby girl!

Any good adivce would be great!
xoxo

mumtoSavannah how long did it take you to fall pregnant if you don't mind me asking?

I was on the pill for a year and a half and had "pill periods" for 3 months. then for 3 months after that, my AF was all over the place! Then it was smooth sailing after that, but I still havent gotten pregnant and I stopped taking the pill last July. Good luck to you! I use the clear blue easy fmk and i love it! it cuts out the confusion

I have read somewhere that your ovulation has returned after your normal menstrual cycle
Anyway my cycle is normally 28 days so I should ovulate in 5 - 8 days. I can't wait hopefully it happens for us

What is your temperature ment to be when you are ovulating?

i have learned over the past year that ttc is so different for everyone! i looked into all the different methods of tracking ovulation and thought "mucous and temperature??? geez!" i decided that checking cm was not for me (even though i deff notice the changes when i am about to come up on the o) and that temp tracking was going to be hard to remember everyday (even though I somehow remember to "pee on a stick" every morning now.... LoL) so i went with the clearblue easy fmk. i didnt really need the monitor bc i can read the sticks myself, but it has really helped me figure out when i'm ready to bd! i would recommend it to anyone bc it seems to be pretty accurate (and my gyno recommended it to me!)
as far as AF after the pill.... i've heard that it can take months to get that stuff out of your system, and from my own experience, my first 3 af after the pill was just like i was still on it, then for 3 mths after, my cycles were like 30 days, 35 days, and finally 42 days. But after that theyve been 30-32 days (finally sheww!!!!) but still, no baby.
the truth is it can take a while. and i hate to hear ppl say "quit trying and it'll happen" bc even if u stop trying, that isnt going to make the underlying health problem preventing u from conceiving go away. i decided to stop listening to what friends were saying and speak to a doctor. u start to get discouraged after a while honestly. especially when u already have one, and got that baby easily. i hope that everyone on here gets the baby they want!
