Hi ladies,

My husband and I are just starting to TTC. I have an irregular cycle, I get my period randomly sometimes I get them as long as 3 months apart. So my question is how do I tell when I am ovulating? I got an ovulation kit, which seems to predict that I ovulated around the 16th of this month. It would be great if I ovulated around the same time each month...but it seems it would be that easy. Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions/advice?

Could you possibly have PCOS? Alot of women do and the most telling symptom is irregular (and often absent) menstral cycles....you should goggle it.....I have it...my only symptoms are irregular cycles and insulin resistance...I was put on metformin and I am ovulating much more regularily now....just a suggestion. Good luck!

I would definitely make an appointment with your OB/GYN to talk about PCOS. You could also start charting your cycles. It won't tell you BEFORE you ovulate, but once you get to know your cycles better it will give you some idea of when you might be able to expect to O. And if you have a few cycles worth of charts that show you aren't Oing consistently if will help your doctor understand what you are dealing with and better formulate a plan of action for you. Good luck! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Wow, I never even knew what PCOS was! I looked it up on google and the symptoms are the same as what I have been experiencing. I have ALWAYS had an irregular period, have you both always had irregular periods?
