I am unsure of where to start! I am 19 years old and ever since I was little all I wanted was to be a mother! In April 2007 I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and interstitial cystitis (IC). I was told by my dr that the chances of me getting pregnant were very slim and if I did want a baby I would have to do it very soon. About two months ago I had a surgery to get rid of all the Endometriosis that I had left after all the treatment they had put me through. I just started trying to conceive with my bf (who already has two kids of his own) a few weeks ago. No luck yet but I know it is still early in the game. I am just so scared that I waited too long to try! I am trying to do as much research as possible to try and make it happen as fast as possible and keep me as sane as possible!!

I just need some support I guess from people who are also trying. I don't even know where to begin with it all! I have read that I should start taking folic acid and that I should stay away from soy (which is big for me because I am vegetarian.) Should I start on the folic acid? Should I start eating a little meat? Anything else I should know to help my bf and I conceive?

Unfortunately I can't give you the magic "thing" that will make sure you get pregnant right away. Check out the Fertility Charting section. The girls there hepled me get started, and knowing your body and your cycles will deffinately help. As for being a vegitarian, are you a veggan? If you tend to be less strict and drink milk and eat eggs you could try to introduce some chicken breast into your diet. Stay away from legs and thighs, they are very fatty and can upset your stomach very quickly. If you are more strict with your diet you're better off researching alrernative protien sources.
The other advice I want to give you is to be educated, on how you want your pregnancy, your delivery, and caring for a newborn to go. I had my first child at 19 and because I didn't take the time to research everything it all fell apart in the delivery room. Unfortunately, it only got worse after we got home, all of my ex-husband's family had different advise and I ended up with PPD (post-partum depression.) It seemed like every one thought I was too young to raise a child, which is BS, and even with mine being a complete surprise for me we eventually made it work like a well oiled machine. Baisically, what I want you to take away from my rant is simple, do your research, know your body, and don't be afraid to question everyone that gives you advice (family, friends AND you Dr.)
Good luck, and of course... Baby Dust!!!
