How does everyone get the white outline on the fonts? I only have photoshop 4.0, so I wonder if I need a newer version because I can't figure it out for the life of me, and it seems like something that should be so simple!

I'm not sure if your version has it, but if you right-click on your text layer, and go to blending options, it will give you the option of adding a stroke. Just change that to white.

Actually, I don't think 4.0 has it? I thought I knew what you were talking about, but I don't see it anywhere

According to this site, it has it. . .I'm just not sure where you find it! Maybe try going to Edit<Stroke?

if its elements do something like drop shadow, then double click the little fx thingy on the layer and a box will pop up with the levels for your shadow, glow, bevel, and stroke

Can you take a print screen of what your PS looks like when you open it?

Here is what mine looks like (PS 6.0) and I use it in XP. I am also showing you how I get stroke around my letters.

This is how I do it in PSE 6.0 When you click edit, then stroke, then a box pops up and you can pick your
desired color, and even how big the stroke is.

Hope this helps.
