Shadows almost never need to be over a distance or size of 5 when working in 72 dpi
Keep your shadows opacity at 50 or lower, higher than that and it tends to glare
Unless your shadow is over something gray or black never ever ever use black for your shadow color. Click on the color for the shadow then use the color picker and click whatever the shadow is in front of then make the color darker. If against white use a medium-light gray.
Never make all of your shadows the same uniform size. Make things in the front have a little more shadow than things they are in front of. If it is your very background object, either don't shadow or add just a tiny one.
Any other links, be they on JM or an outside source, you might know of feel free to use or share.
Please have your entries in by no later than 9 am CST on Monday November 30.
When you create a new document, it will say what the resolution is. 72 dpi means it's for the web (signatures, etc). 300 dpi (which is what a lot of kits are) is print quality.
