So after I took the pics of my sister I could tell my photographer was improving but I took some pics of my friends son today and im just not impressed with them and getting frustrated.. still can't figure out what i'm doing wrong!!! .. Can you girls look at them and let me know what I should be doing that i'm not I'll post 4 here with the settings I took them in.




Picture 1 is 1/125 5.6
Picture 2 is 1/250 5.6
Picture 3 is 1/200 5.6
Picture 4 is 1/400 5.0
Picture 5 is 5.6 -- 1/160
Picture 6 is 1/400 5.6

Ashely, there really is nothing wrong with them...any of them

Is 5.0 the lowest aperture on your lens?

1- I like your aperture because this allows the water to be in focus along with the feet.
2- Because you are closer in, the parents hand is out of focus, putting the baby's hand in focus, which I like.
3- Colors look great. It appears to be slightly out of focus...probably because the shutter speed is on the slow side and your subjec is a baby who never hold still! lol. If you were able to lower your aperture, you could increase your shutter speed.
4- LOVE this one. It almost appears that it was taken with a wide angle lens.
5- LOVE this one. I also like what you did with the saturation. Very "child-like"
6- Looks a tad underexposed. I would have slowed your shutter speed just a tad or lowered your aperture.

What ISO were you using for all of these?
