That's such a hard age - cuz they can't sit up on their own - but at least they're not as "floppy" as a newborn. I just did a shoot last week with a 3 month old and some poses I did was in a "bucket" with a towel and washcloth and ducky, I also had the mom stand and hold the baby's arms to get her to "stand" - I also had a basket and a cradle thing - but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to - she got fussy. another pose that i didn't get to - was have the parent hold the child in the air and take a pic looking up at them.

Well i will be taking the pics of my son so there won't be any one else around to help. I did all first sons photos but this time around i'm having a hard time thinking of what to do. I also don't have any cool props like baskets and buckets and such which stinks.

that's fine - you should do one of him on him belly peeking out from under a blanket - that's a classic and is super cute!

I could try that, he moves a lot though. My first was so much easier to take pic of.

for my son's 4 month pics, i had him just in his cloth diaper and laying on his tummy...i did some nakey ones and then put him in a basket. (i mainly just did candid shots,, some in my studio and some in out living room in front of the slider door with natural light. just laid him on his tummy and laid down in front of him and just took pics)

You could get some blocks and spell out FOUR for 4 months.
Lots of different baskets..
Lots of different fabrics/blankets he could lay on for different looks
A beanbag to prop him up in
Let him lay in the grass on his tummy

here's someone's from a 4 month shoot

Tummy pictures are always cute! You could also use a bumbo.

Pillows covered with a blanket make an excellent propper-upper.

And you don't have to have fancy baskets...laundry baskets can be cute.
