I was a little leary yesterday when I was heading out to a "newborn" shoot, as the baby was already 3 weeks old and we had missed the magic window when they sleep all the time and are super bendy.
Thanks to Natasha, I went there with the attitude that I'd try to see what I could get, and whatever happened, happened, as she said she had an older baby that was a dream to work with.

Sure enough, little baby R was amazing. Slept through the first hour and a half with barely a squawk, and I even got him in the composite pose (I still have to edit that one though). And, I bought the props that Natasha had (suitcase and book) and tried it out... he was great there too! I just realize that I need to buy some fake floor, as I don't like the carpet.

Anyways, if you've read this far, thanks! Here are some faves, although I'm still editing...

love them girl!!!!! see i told ya.. some babies just do better older than they did as a real newborn newborn!!!.. maybe because newborns 0-14 days eat ALL the time.. while the older ones get fuller and take better naps!!.. i always schedule my newborns around 12-1230 because it seems that is when they take their good afternoon nap, instead of the little snoozes through out the day!

you did great! and love the hats! love the suitcase/book with the fur! the fur works much better!! I am in the process of looking for some costume (or real if i find them) nerd glasses.. the really big, thick black framed ones.. i think that'd work great with these props! well especially the book!!.. also a newsboy hat would be awesome with the suitcase.. you know the old vintage hats all the men wore back in the day.. would be good for a "traveler's" theme with the suitcase!!!

could you work a little magic in photoshop to replace the carpet with a floor instead??

The glasses would be great... also a vintage globe for the background!

I can try replacing the floor, but I really only know basic PS edits... LOL... I really such at making things like that look real.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I like those

I'm on the hunt for a suitcase similar to that too, the old vintage-y feeling ones!
