before, when I had my bridge Canon, the LCD screen could move so self-portraits were easy since I could see me and take a picture at the same time.

I cannot do that with my DSLR!..

Any tips for good self-portrait? :/

I have heard that some will put a mirror behind the camera and angle it so they can see the display. You would have to use live view though, which I hate.

I do have a tripod.
but it's still not that simple, because there's the focus and you still don't know what you'll look like

I've had my kiddos sit for me to get a general idea on placement/focus before, but it was still a lot of trial and error.

This may be a stretch and may require some research...

I used to have a camcorder that you could plug into the TV and see the camera feed on the big screen. Can you do that with a dslr? Even if you could get it on a computer it would help. I wonder if it's possible?

I use the auto portait mode, set up the camera where I want it, set the self timer for 10 seconds, and do it a few times until I get basically what I want. Then I style it through editing. It's not as good as doing it all manual but it's okay.
